Since BP are on the list of Apple pay launch partners in the UK, I wonder if that means you can use Apple Pay at the pay at pump?
Have they got any pay@pump terminals? Not seen one here...
If they did up the contactless limit that would be great to pay, otherwise (unless my car's in the garage and I have a hire car) no good for me as my fuel is always over £20/£30..

I've only ever seen pay at pump at Asda and Tesco....

I downloaded the beta myself, but not before making up an encrypted backup via iTunes. If it doesn't work I can just go back to 8.4 anyway.
How do you go back? I installed the beta and the battery life is horrible, when I tried to restore the backup it said something like "this won't update your firmware"?

Interesting to see his comment about seeing Barclays own solution stalling. I worked at Natwest back in the mid 90s just when the mondex trial in Swindon was coming to an end. Our shop & restaurant (was in IT HQ in London) had their own version (byte) which worked a treat - made paying for food so much faster... And that was 20 years ago :)

I've just discovered that my local Co-Op accepts contactless payment at the till... I find myself looking for it more and more as we edge ever closer to the 14th!

My local Co-Op is also contactless so will be trying it out there Tuesday. Not too long to go now. My local BP Garage is only contactless inside. They don't have a Pay at Pump facility.

A couple of tweets from Matt Brian at Engadget UK giving further credence to a launch this Tuesday:

:D

I've posted this in the Barclays thread but it probably belongs in here. Can't add cards yet.

In other news the American Express UK :apple: Pay site is live

From the FAQ

Which American Express Cards are eligible for Apple Pay?
  • An eligible Card is an active UK American Express issued Personal or Small Business Credit or Charge Card
  • Your current Card does not need to be contactless in order to use Apple Pay
  • American Express Corporate Cards and Pre-paid Cards are not eligible
  • See how to add your Card now

Yup, it's on the terminal, so I would expect that limit to not exist in the US...

I thought the current limit in the UK was due to the terminals and the limit imposed by the banks? Once the bank limit is lifted, compatible terminals will have no limit. But ones with the old software will still?

It's a combo of both, I believe. The software is dictated by Visa/MasterCard. Visa/Mastercard reps have said that retailers can disregard the limit, saying that they need to get the latest terminal software

Will people with iOS 9 beta 3 still get Apple pay in the U.K. When it's released?

See my earlier post. I've reposted it here for you...

Ive got the beta installed and the location change workaround gave me the same results as 8.4 did, giving me HSBC's T&C's before saying to contact the issuer, so I think it's safe to say we're gonna be ok.

So yes. Apple Pay is already baked into iOS. It just needs the JSON updated on Apple's end to enable the U.K.

Just double tapped the button and it told me to add a card on the phone. It's happening folks

Mine has been saying that for days, when I go onto my iPhone and go to Apple Watch > Passbook & Apple Pay > Add Credit or Debit Card it simply tells me that my issuer does not offer support for this card.
