I have an iPad mini 2 right now (128Gb LTE). I love the size! I have used the other sizes too, but this size is the best of all.

Great for typing emails and texts, playing games, using productivity apps. It does it all!

Please give us an updated iPad mini with Pencil support, and at least an A10 processor! I would buy it right away!

BTW, I am surprised how well iOS 11.2.6 works on my iPad mini 2. It is much more stable than 10.3.3

Unfortunately I don’t think they will see our pleas here. Not that it looks like it would help either :(

I think the iPad Mini joins the Mac Mini, the iPod Touch and the rest of the iPod line in Apple's ignore list.

The Mini4 runs along on iOS10, but with iOS11 it was a sluggish unresponsive jalopy, and I luckily downgraded it back to 10 in time.

It's the only iOS device I even use, but it's the perfect size to be as big as possible while still fitting in a back pocket or jacket, and it can still be held securely in one hand and operated with the other. I use it for everything, including Skype, replacing a phone. If only they'd add an Apple Pencil digitizer in the display stack, we could take accurate notes and sketches on it, making it the single most useful device in the world.

I bet they'll kill it off instead.

I seriously think Apple will kill of iPad mini this year. The fact that there is no rumor at all for iPad mini indicating Apple is not planning to bring out a new iPad mini.

The currently iPad mini is kind awkward position where it just have one storage option and price is more expensive than 9.7 inch iPad. This is strong indication that Apple is going to kill of iPad mini line.

Haaaard to tell. (And I love my mini 4.)

It's been a long time, and the execs have never dropped any hints either way.

But after the iPhone X, it does feel a lot like we're in the year of another sweeping engineering revolution for all iOS devices, and I wouldn't say it's impossible we'll see a three-tiered iPad line (iPad mini / iPad / iPad Pro) adopting the Super Retina Display, Face ID, and encroached bezels.

I'd say the "Plus" iPhones are approaching the mini's size, but I'm not sure that phone size will survive; the iPhone X itself seems positioned right between the two prior iPhone sizes.

Wow it can fit in your back pocket? I wish it could fit into mine but it would need to lose at least an inch off the width, but then I’m on the small side. I also wish I could palm the mini with one hand. Well, I can but it’s very uncomfortable. I’d love an iPad nano.

Yeah, with a 36 waist it fits in every back pants pocket I have. Since I'm running around with my hands full more often than not, its size is its killer feature.

If only it had that digitizer...

If Apple is going to release a bezel-less 10.5" & 12.9" ipad but with bigger screen sizes of 11" & 13.5" then i hope they release an ipad mini pro with apple pencil support. But instead of having a 7.9" screen, make it an 8.5" screen.

Then the ipad lineup would look like this:

13.5" ipad pro
11" ipad pro
9.7" discounted regular ipad
8.5" ipad mini pro

I think this would cover all the bases and give an ipad for everyone.

My ideal scenario. Which I actually see happening by this March for number 3 (maybe even with pencil support), June for #2 for sure and maybe even #1 and next March for the iPad mini pro.

Pencil support or the lack of it won’t be a deciding factor or lead to less pro sales with the above lineup. 9.7 old home button design and 11” iPad X is two different price and decision points they can all have pencil support now.

I’ve been begging Apple for an upgrade for a while. My wife’s mini 4 is over 2 years old and she wants to upgrade, but doesn’t want a 10.5”. I keep telling her there is no upgrade and there probably never will be :(

Next March is a really long time, mini 4 is already on its last legs. If this was ever apples plan, I’d of thought they’d have stuck an A9 into the mini 4 body to let it last that long, they haven’t which to me means either it gets updated next week or the mini as we know it will be completely gone before maybe coming back as something else.

I hope they go in the opposite direction with the mini. 7.9” is a great “smallest iPad screen size.” So for the mini I hope they keep it at 7.9” and shrink it down.

Making it bezelless 7.9” with a notch cut out would be my ideal iPad mini. I don’t care if it’s premium and priced higher than the regular iPad.

My ideal iPad Mini would be without a notch. But I'm an oddball in that way.

My phone (iPhone 8) was a NIGHTMARE on iOS11...but my Mini 4 has been actually fine...

Must keep the Mini alive
[doublepost=1521571186][/doublepost]Why give up the Mini? Best reader around. Try using big iPads while lying down.

If iOS 12/13 slows down the mini 4 to a noticeable degree, I’ll likely upgrade to a new iPad. If there is no new mini at that time, I’ll get the next size up that still has all the latest bells and whistles. But since I love the mini’s size and I only just got it, I don’t plan to get rid of the mini 4 until it’s unable to update to the latest iOS. Sure hope we get a mini 5, mini pro or some other similar variant in the next year, though.

Samsung's Tab S is selling well I think that is a good sign for Apple to make another iPad Mini equal to the specs of the Tab S! Tab S is also 3 years old too. LOL!

How do you know the Tab S is selling well? I've not read any articles recently saying that to be the case.
