I submitted this rest day request as feedback too. Love to know our feedback is being seen!I had submitted (and I know many others have) that as feedback to Apple quite some time ago. It's great it's being added.

Seems like you haven't actually compared and just heard so?Apple sleep data has way more accurate than Android, maybe Android is prettier?
Yup, Garmin is very good. No, the biggest area is in the presentation of data. Apple Watch data collects lots of data, and dumps it somewhere.
Garmin actually does something with it. I use both watches and prefer Garmin. I can see my past 7 days activity, runs, walks, cycles, all totalled in miles.
i forgot to mention, Garmin waits till a GPS lock before you start the run, Apple Watch just starts and misses part of the run (I believe Apple Watch Ultra acts like the Garmin, why though? Surely the normal AW can do this).
Next is the actually watch when doing an activity, The Apple Watch is a mess and useless when running. The Garmin is so much clearer to see when running. Everything I need is displayed in one screen. Again, the Apple Watch has more data collection, but it’s awful to use when running. I really wish it could be updated.
instead, Watch OS 11. Some gimmicks and more pride watch faces.
I swear every bloody time there is an iOS or WatchOS update, it messes up for me.I've only seen this when I set up a new device and it takes several days to reload the data.
I changed my goals for 1 day due to injuries and needed to rest. The damn thing says I broke the streak the next day until I completed that day's goals...YEP!!!!! Only seems to update properly when another metric is achieved.
This was a lot of what I wished for. Still hoped for maps integrated in the workout app for runs in new areas - sounds like the first step has been taken with the hiking feature in maps (Not for us in Europe but still). As an athlete, a lot of the new features look great. The training load metrics and analysis, something I use with Strava (as a subscription mind you), being readily available natively from Apple Watch data seems very promising.
Can't wait to try it!
Whole-heartedly agree.I changed my goals for 1 day due to injuries and needed to rest. The damn thing says I broke the streak the next day until I completed that day's goals...
It is so annoying that these minor bugs are still plaguing the product this many years after it had been launched.
It took a little while for it to start working.Anyone else finding that WatchOS 11 can’t load weather?
Same here. The weather goes out once in a while and I have to reboot both devices too.Whole-heartedly agree.
While I appreciate some of the things added to WatchOS 10. Apple seemed to make more things worse.
Currently I have to reboot both my phone and watch every few days because the watches weather widgets stop working. I have temp and wind speed on the watch face and they will go out every few days until I reboot both devices.
This is a problem for any tracker. It detects steps based on movement. On a bus you are moving, there are vibrations that it will count as steps. I get the same problem when driving. It's less on the Apple Watch than any other tracker.I really need Apple Watch to be accurate counting steps. I’m a bus driver in the UK and whilst sat, driving my bus, my watch has me walking all over the place - adding hundreds of erroneous steps. Surely Apple can design the watch tracking software to know when you’re driving and not walking!?
The main thing for me is a clear watch face with various complications. I tried to replicate my Garmin (glance) and it's impossible. The Altitude complication has a font so small, I can't even read it. Even worst if you are walking or running anywhere.Yup, Garmin is very good.
Almost went with them instead of Samsung but it would have been double the price and for my first smartwatch figured I should test first.
If Apple watch isn't improved in some ways next year if I switch to iPhone then I will have to get a Garmin instead.
It somewhat makes me feel better than its not only me. I was getting close to doing a fresh install to see if that helped.Same here. The weather goes out once in a while and I have to reboot both devices too.
(I find it funny when reading the very next post after yours and wanted to say it is not a WatchOS 11 only thing.)
I’m sure the algorithm could be better designed to ignore ‘steps’ when GPS is showing the watch moving at 20, 30, 40 even 50mph. It’s effectively useless as a health tracker for me as it counts hundreds of erroneous steps every duty. Especially when active calories and whatnot are also calculated on your activity. This is a problem for any tracker. It detects steps based on movement.
