Ghey

for me it was like a giant mind game.
you sit and watch some apple propaganda for an hour
then you are orally quizzed on the numbers
now the fun part. after all the apple propoganda you are assigned a group and you have six minutes to make a presentation.

you are then thanked and asked to leave..
you get no one on one time.

i assume this is some sort of psycological profiling.. but i did not see any psychologists in the room.

i thought my group had the most unique presentation..
i had an email this morning saying i had not been selected for an interview

i think the whole process was quite retarded and nothing like i expected from apple...

pretty GHEY (and that is coming from a homosexual)

What kind of questions do they ask?

TBH yours sounds very different from mine, so really we can not compare the two. I had lots of one to one time.We where not quizzed so much, really they just wanted to know our experiences.

The way you have writen yours sounds very cold, with mine it was very friendly, open and honest. Bad luck on not getting through tho.

Just had my interview at a seminar for the UK Bristol store on wednesday- they mentioned they were to get back to us by Friday. It's now Friday night and no word as of yet. I don't mean to be a hijacker of the thread, I've never posted here before but I did a quick search and this thread came up.

Has anyone been successful in being asked back to the final interviews after being left waiting for a weekend?

I would send an email across to my contacts in HR, but I don't want to seem pushy. Anyone in the same boat?

unfortunately my friend Apple HR are really busy, wait until monday, end of next week before calling/mailing.

took about a week before i heard!

just attended a specialist seminar

I just got back from a specialist seminar...there were 27 in attendance...only 5 women...mostly white males dressed in button downs and khakis...for the first part...we watched some videos and presentations about apple the company...we were asked 1) did anyone here think you need to have a computer background to work here? (some raised their hands but the moderator said it wasn't necessary to have a computer background)...if anyone had any retail experience? (most raised our hands)...if anyone had Mac computers? PCs? Both? He went on to explain that apple is more about people not technology...after the videos we got split up into small groups and given 7 minutes to come up with a quick presentation about anything in the store...we chose the new iPhone (and so did 2 other groups)...I think it was just to see everyone in action...afterward...they told us they would be in touch with all of us for the next stage which they would explain to us once they called us...

overall...the seminar lasted close to 2 hours...most of it spent watching the videos and listening to the presentation...everyone was friendly...and remember to smile! they like that...and when you first go into the store...expect a warm greeting...the employees that were there were clapping as we walked by...

I need to know everything about the personal shopping side!

Hi guys! Sorry to bother again, I got through, but its a little short notice for the final interview. Is there any info you guys could tell me about the personal shopping part of the apple stores? I've never partaken in that as had my mac equipment before our store opened.

Is there any particular way they do things that is unusual?

Cheers!

I was at a seminar for the UK Bristol store on Thursday (17th) and we were promised an email either way by today (Monday) at the latest.

Anyone from that seminar heard yet?

Checking my email far too often for my own good!

EDIT: Literally a minute after posting that I got an email!

We had the exact same thing - I participated in a seminar on Sunday (yesterday) at Apple Bluewater (Kent, UK). Obviously nothing yet, but does anyone know how long it takes for a reply?

Went to a seminar on Thursday evening (17th) and got a yes email this afternoon (21st), so that was 2 working days, exactly what they promised.

Did they tell you at the seminar when they would get back to you?

Yep, everyone would get a reply - but now it's just the waiting game.

Hello everyone. I'm in the US and I have an interview at my Apple store. It doesn't sound like it is going to be a group seminar but more of a one on one situation. Anyways is the dress for the interview casual? It doesn't seem like it would be a shirt and tie situation.

I got a call today around 2pm asking to go in for an interview this Thursday at the store - I believe a more one-to-one kind of thing!

My interview is in the same place at 2pm. I'll probably see you there!
