Updated iTunes - no problem
Downloaded 3.1.1 - no problem
Installed on my Touch 2G - no problem, but slooooow

Downloaded available app updates, synced.

Took over an hour for the Touch to be backed up?
I thought that syncs were too slow on 2.2.1 - but this is about 8x slower! Is the syncing going to remain that slow from now on? It's like I'll need to just sync overnight, for crying out loud!

On another subject - glad I waited to update the OS: $5 vs. $10. neener neener!

I just replaced my 3g under warranty, so I had the advantage of downloading the new software and then setting up tethering. IT STILL WORKS!!! I followed the exact same format as before with a US based ATT 3G (mind you this is my first time setting up tethering). I updated to the new software yesterday and setup the proper download etc. and it still works perfectly. I have not had any VVM problems as some others have had.

I am unable to capture screenshots using the home + power buttons. Can someone please test this. I did restore as new iPhone.

Questions...

Does this mean older iPhones will never be compatible with secure Exchange servers?

Has anyone worked out a sure fire way to keep tethering alive? The experiences seem fairly random in this thread:

Does anyone with mobileme and an iPhone tell me if you can send email from a mobileme alias without using one of the flawed workarounds yet?

If anyone can help, thanks!

Did anyone notice that movies taken now sync in the photos.app? I can't seem to find that as a listed feature. The other thing that I have noticed is my podcast are now showing newest to oldest, which is annoying because it took them till 2.2/3.0 to fix that.

Yes, sadly it does. Reinstalling it did not work for me.

What?

Not only does the BenM not work now, but having the BenM profile still in my settings caused me lack of visual voicemail features.
It took me 2 days to realize that I was not being notified about all the voicemail piling up.
I spent 2 hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T before figuring out what the problem was.
Once I removed the BenM profile, visual voicemail worked like a charm.

Oh well.

just reload your BenM and start over, I did and it works perfect, no vvm problems or anything....

google maps is flacky

Do people have problem with google maps (the application)?

Once I drop a pin I cannot move it around and the application simply hangs.
Sometimes it crashes and sometimes not, but I need to turn it off and on to gain access again.
