Apple today released new firmware update for both the Lightning and USB-C versions of the AirPods Pro 2. The new firmware is version 6F7, up from the 6B34 firmware released in November.

Apple does not provide details on what features might be included in the refreshed firmware beyond "bug fixes and other improvements," so it is unclear what's new in the update.

Apple does not give customers instructions on how to upgrade AirPods software, but firmware is generally installed over-the-air while the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ are connected to an iOS device. Putting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ in the case, connecting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to a power source, and then pairing the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to an iOS device or Mac should force the update.

You can check your ‌‌‌AirPods‌‌ firmware by following these steps:
  • Connect your ‌‌‌‌‌‌AirPods Pro‌‌‌‌‌‌ to your iOS device.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap About.
  • Tap ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌.
  • Look at the number next to "Firmware Version."
If we learn more about what's new in the firmware release, we'll update this article.

Let the updating rituals begin 😂 is it case open, case closed, 30s of music in ear and then put down, or maybe plug them into a Mac, who knows
Funny. I’ve always used case open although Apple says that won’t work. Been connected with case open for about 30 minutes. Nothing yet.

6F7 not 6BF7 for me.

Maybe, just maybe, my APP2 will connect to my latest gen Apple TV quicker than the current 15+ seconds! It's ridiculous!

UPDATE: Nope, no change in connection speed to my Apple TV. uggg...

updated to 6F7 too. Three characters, not what the article is reporting.
and no, I won’t play the game of reporting the performance of ANC.

After being stupidly disappointed with ANC since launch, I genuinely feel they've final sorted out the issues I'd been personally having. That was with the drifting in and out of ANC especially in the left ear. I quite often sit in our sitting room with my wife watching some trash on TV. I can hardly hear anything and zero drifting after 45 minutes.

Mine updated while in the case in my pocket. Hopefully this fixes some of the connectivity issues and random static I have when waking up my phone playing music from the Lock Screen. Always stutters…
