There are no noticeable differences in ANC; the city underground that I ride every day just has an assortment of high-pitched noises from all walks of life.

Apple today released new firmware update for both the Lightning and USB-C versions of the AirPods Pro 2. The new firmware is version 6F7, up from the 6B34 firmware released in November.

Apple does not provide details on what features might be included in the refreshed firmware beyond "bug fixes and other improvements," so it is unclear what's new in the update.

Apple does not give customers instructions on how to upgrade AirPods software, but firmware is generally installed over-the-air while the ‌‌AirPods‌‌ are connected to an iOS device. Putting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ in the case, connecting the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to a power source, and then pairing the ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌ to an iOS device or Mac should force the update.

You can check your ‌‌‌AirPods‌‌ firmware by following these steps:
  • Connect your ‌‌‌‌‌‌AirPods Pro‌‌‌‌‌‌ to your iOS device.
  • Open the Settings app.
  • Tap General.
  • Tap About.
  • Tap ‌‌‌‌‌AirPods‌‌‌‌‌.
  • Look at the number next to "Firmware Version."
If we learn more about what's new in the firmware release, we'll update this article.

6F7 full on noise cancelling now very poor when compare to older firmware, I hope there is some upside somewhere, so far 👎

This thread should be a poll:

[ ] ANC seems worse
[ ] ANC seems better
[ ] I am impatient about the firmware update process and want to complain about it
[ ] Apple Is Doomed
You’re missing the option:
[ ] Sounds of galloping unicorns and sparkling rainbows in your left ear

I get that a lot after the update

No significant improvement in microphone voice call quality with 6F7 firmware.

Also, if you use Apple's Voice Isolation when there is lots of loud voices in the background, call quality actually degrades!

Check out my signature to hear the differences for yourself...

Has anyone lost the ability to control volume on both left or right pods? Updated a couple days ago but havent really changed volume this days nor use them frecuently. But last week before the update it was just working fine.

It just boops and makes the usual sounds but it is not doing anything. I haven't tried reseting yet before you guys mention it, but just want first know if it is something related to this update.

Edit: welp, never mind. It was the iphone the issue😂. Turning on and off fixed it.

Well almost a week now and I usually don’t express any observations but for me, the bass response has really been raised out of the background. Clean, crisp, and punchy when warranted. Gotta say one of the better firmware updates IMO.

I don’t believe anything about the bass has changed. I’m really particular about frequency response and I would’ve noticed if something was different. I use my Pros every day.

Hi there,

I noticed that the AirPods Pro 2 firmware updated from 6F7 to 6F8 this week but didn't see any news about that?
