SUCCESS! I was able to return the iPhone 12 Pro Max. I ended up returning the iPhone here at my local Apple Store.today It's the first day of reopening. So you guys have 14 days, up until March 3rd., for any holiday purchase with a return receipt date of Jan 8, 2021.
Oddly, I had 2 items to return, the phone and that 20W charger. The 20W Charger was purchased Nov. 2020 and the phone Dec. 2020. Both were under the Holiday Return Policy of Jan. 8, 2021.
So the guy tells me, I can return the iPhone for full refund, but not the charger. Because back in Nov. the stores were still open within the 14 day return window. I went ahead and agreed and left. I realized both these items were part of the extended Holiday return period and it is clearly is printed on both the receipts. I didn't catch it until I left. So, I may go back in a few days to return it as I already have a 20W charger.
