Well... Apple has just released their new iPad Pro and I’m speechless, if you were going to use this iPad as a computer you would need to get the bigger size, the keyboard case and the Apple Pencil, all of this would cost £1,287, yet I can go buy the new MacBook Air for £1,199 and that has a bigger display, a physical keyboard, Touch ID, 2 USB C ports compared to 1 and 128gb compared to the base model iPad Pro 12.9” at 64gb. This is absolutely outrageous Apple are charging more money for their iPads than for their laptops, I can’t tell you how angry I am, I feel like Apple are trying to rob me, they should of at least included the Appl pencil and or the keyboard case in the box, this makes me feel sick.

No one is pointing a gun at your head to buy the new model. BMW and Mercedes aren't robbing people by charging a premium price for a car, nor are airlines who charge a premium price for first class seats. If you can't afford it, then life goes on.

Oh I can afford it alright, but do I really want to spend £1,287 on a base model iPad Pro 12.9”... no

nice subject line. It is a rather large increase.

We shrunk the bezels so our costs went up 20% seems a strech
more like they are stretched to meet Wall Street revenue goals so are flooding their product line with skus and price increases.

“If you were going to use this iPad as a computer you’re getting the big one”? What? Not for me. I had a 12.9 but decided to downsize to a 10.5 and it’s my laptop replacement without fail.

Still if I bought the smaller one it would come to £1,087 for the iPad with only 64gb, and with the keyboard and pencil, it’s still expensive

Yeah and did you see the price increase for the new accessories? $130 for the new pencil and $200 for the larger keyboard. That’s like...why? Isn’t the new keyboard the exact same? Scratching my head on that one

you don’t buy the iPad Pro to replace a computer. Computers don’t work with the Apple Pencil which is the best stylus ever invented. If you don’t do art, buy a computer instead

Agreed. My wife uses her iPad Pro (last gen now...) and Apple Pencil for her PhD in biology. It has replaced paper for her and she loves it more than anything. Apple Pencil is definitely the best stylus ever (I've used it).

Tell me why Apple kept saying that the iPad Pro is a replacement for a computer the whole way through the keynote

I love my 2nd gen 12.9 jail broken with keyboard and mouse even More right now

Got it around lunch and $100 off price matched on a sale two months later
When my card had price protection

iPad is the only device I want to wire in headphones sometimes like my Mac. Phones not a big deal I don’t wanna deal with cords walking around but

Count me out on this one big time

Man, Apple used to come out with newer models at the same current price, but now everything is just more expensive.
It happened with the 15 inch Macbook Pro - I was so ready to buy, but with the touchbar which I didn't care for it was $400 more! I said F that so I'm still using my 2015 which was absolutely the right choice.

I remember the Mac Mini starting at 499! Now its $799 with a measly 128gb SSD. They are still charging $200 for a 128gb increase in SSD to 256! You might as well get the 6-core with 256gb for $1099.

I ain't buying anything from Apple except stock until it becomes more reasonable. Still using my iPhone SE, 9.7 iPad Pro and 2013 27" iMac as well.

I thought they’d increase the price but by £50 to £100 not by £200
And going off that, Face ID has been around for more than a year. They’ve gotten used to making these and as time goes on, prices should go down right? So that alone shouldn’t justify much of a price increase. All other new features should be included with a normal upgrade as far as I can tell. So not entirely sure where the extra $200 is coming from

If you can’t justify paying a higher price then the solution is simple - DON’T BUY ONE. Apple can’t rob you if you don’t willingly hand over your money to them.

This happens every time Apple rolls out new products. Entitled whiners come out of the woodwork screaming about how Apple is personally screwing them with price increases. What you all fail to understand is that Apple charges what they charge and raises prices BECAUSE THEY CAN. Price increases haven’t hurt demand and they certainly haven’t hurt their stock price.

This is basic economics.
