They spend more time giving app demos during the keynote than talking about their new products, am I the only one who finds this boring
That’s my issue. My phone is my primary device so I’ve no issues spending £1,000 plus each year on the latest iPhone. However my iPad is only used for consumption so I’m not going to upgrade it every year. Last year I spent £1,038 for my 256GB iPad Pro with Apple Pencil, keyboard and Apple care. So I’m going to keep it for a while longer. The iPad is a tertiary device for most people (not everyone). There's just no justifying investing nearly $1000 in a tertiary device.

I use my MacBook even less so I keep it for longer and won’t typically spend as much on it as my phone.
The new iPads are very powerful but I just won’t use it for anything more than consumption.
The pricing on these things makes my tummy hurt but damn they look SO good..but how come no love for rose gold? What are the odds these drop in price for BF?
I’ll never understand people like you who call people that are shocked at an unnecessary price increase of $200 “entitled whiners”. Nobody is acting entitled to everything. But with pricing, you are giving expectations. People expect if there’s a price increase it’s going to be justified. Face ID is cool, but $200 worth of cool? People expected an increase and were ready, but not for that much.If you can’t justify paying a higher price then the solution is simple - DON’T BUY ONE. Apple can’t rob you if you don’t willingly hand over your money to them.
This happens every time Apple rolls out new products. Entitled whiners come out of the woodwork screaming about how Apple is personally screwing them with price increases. What you all fail to understand is that Apple charges what they charge and raises prices BECAUSE THEY CAN. Price increases haven’t hurt demand and they certainly haven’t hurt their stock price.
This is basic economics.
Because they want you to buy the new one. But until Adobe ports InDesign to the iPad, I will never consider it a computer replacement even if Apple does.Tell me why Apple kept saying that the iPad Pro is a replacement for a computer the whole way through the keynote
That is your opinion. Then you CANT afford it. People who can really afford it wont scoff at a price difference of 150-200$ over what they expected. If an extra $100-200 is the deciding factor over you buying it or not then you shouldnt be buying it.
Because they want you to buy the new one. But until Adobe ports InDesign to the iPad, I will never consider it a computer replacement even if Apple does.
Exactly. My iPhone is far more of a useful professional tool than my iPad is.The new iPads are very powerful but I just won’t use it for anything more than consumption.
Well, never say never, but definitely not a computer replacement while it lacks an easily accessible file system.Couldn’t agree with this more, the iPad can never replace a computer

on your ipad you get more SSD and more cpu power ...you compare the top of the line ipad pro with base spec macbook air?Well... Apple has just released their new iPad Pro and I’m speechless, if you were going to use this iPad as a computer you would need to get the bigger size, the keyboard case and the Apple Pencil, all of this would cost £1,287, yet I can go buy the new MacBook Air for £1,199 and that has a bigger display, a physical keyboard, Touch ID, 2 USB C ports compared to 1 and 128gb compared to the base model iPad Pro 12.9” at 64gb. This is absolutely outrageous Apple are charging more money for their iPads than for their laptops, I can’t tell you how angry I am, I feel like Apple are trying to rob me, they should of at least included the Appl pencil and or the keyboard case in the box, this makes me feel sick.
The file sizes of these adobe programs(Like Photoshop, etc) I assume the 256GB ipad pro is enough?) Im used to PC version of photoshop file size so honestly have no clue how big these files will be
Even though I use my MacBook less I’d rather par more for a computer than an iPad because it has the potential to do more and you don’t know what you might need it for on the future.Exactly. My iPhone is far more of a useful professional tool than my iPad is.
Right now it is a plate off of which I "consume" content created by others.
Well, never say never, but definitely not a computer replacement while it lacks an easily accessible file system.
I like to know where my files are…
The flaw in your reasoning is that you’re assuming that the standard for what's justified and what is not for price increases is the same for everyone. It’s clearly not.I’ll never understand people like you who call people that are shocked at an unnecessary price increase of $200 “entitled whiners”. Nobody is acting entitled to everything. But ok. Being shocked at an increase and being vocal on a forum is now “entitled whining”

My main computer just happens to be a 10.5 with 64gb. Lots of people just like me too. With things moving more in the cloud and streamingThe 64gb base model is an insult, if they want people to be able to use this as a computer they’ll need at lease 128gb of storage

I usually get 256GB anyway so that's fine but damn these pricesfor the adobe programs I assume that is enough? This will be my first time ordering on apples site..so my question is, I have 14 days to return at apple, if I see next week the BF ads and this is included and there is a price drop can I return it to apple no restocking fee?
The people who use an iPad as they’re main computing device today are not what we used to call “power users”. For those who’s workflows are centered around email and websites (which many professionals are, just ask a realtor) they definitely can (and have for several years now) use just 64GB of memory for their jobs. The 64gb base model is an insult, if they want people to be able to use this as a computer they’ll need at lease 128gb of storage

I for one am planning on buying one of these. I’m fine paying more money for it. Sorry if that marginalizes your ability to send Apple the message that you think their prices are too high but frankly, I couldn’t care less about your opinion. And if Apple sees the level of demand maintained despite the price increase, they and their shareholders obviously couldn’t care less either.
