Maybe they should get a better system in place that lets them update on the fly....imagine if Amazon shut down every time they added a new product!

Of course then they would get so much publicity from slavering Geeks (including myself in that so don't get your Mac branded panties in a bunch!)

I'm pretty sure they do this on purpose. Closing the store adds even more excitement and media buzz to the announcement.

Let the F5'ing begin!
CMD+R ftw!

It's all just publicity. Apple can update the store quickly and silently if they have to (they already did in the past).

Anyone know if the new macbook airs are coming out?
The only thing we know is that the store is down. Everything else is just pure speculation. But according to the Buyer's Guide, the MacBook Air will probably not be updated anytime soon. We'll probably see new iMacs, Mac Pros and Mac Minis before we see new MacBook Airs.

I don't really care about the iMacs since I have a Mac Pro and I am not on the market for something new, but I would love to see a new iWork. Having said that I do not believe that the Applestore is down because of that. Apple will make iWork available on the AppStore.

Well to be able to tell you all told you so. Here are my prediction for the quad-core iMac.

3.1Ghz I5 bto 3.4 I7
Gfx radeon 6850 desktop version
Still only 4gb memory
Z68 chipset. 20gb ssd for cashing. Will still have the option for a standalone ssd. Still 1 TB hd.
Might get eyefinity as a surprise just as ssd came as a surprise last year.
We wiill also get Mac mini upgrade same spec as mbp 13 inch.

For the lower end iMac I am not so sure. The lower end will probably get intel integrated gfx but faster than the laptopversion.
Still think we wi see i3 in low end and dualcore I5 in midend.
Might be able to get 6750m in the I5 21 .5 inch.

Canada stores down too.

I hope they drop DVD drives.

Agree. is 2011 this year. Come on people!! Let's move on.
However, I have a funny feeling that Apple might kill it until next year.
I won't buy any MacBook Pro or iMac with a DVD drive. I love my MacBook Air
I want a thinner iMac :D
