That's for sure. Last summer, I drove up to Boluder Colorado to buy a 8 core Mac Pro. I was wearing blue jeans and a black Gap t-shirt and old nikes with holes in them. I went up to Bloulder because the first store that I went to to buy the Mac Pro ignored me for over 30 minutes as I was there using the display model. I went into the Boluder store, was greeted imediately, told the guy I wanted the 8 core and was out of there in less then 10 minutes. It was probably the fastest $3,000 they ever made at that store.
It's a shame that nobody working at the first store stopped to ask if you needed help. If someone was especially engaged in using a demo system, I personally wouldn't interrupt them.

But I think that you're pushing it a bit to say that you were purposefully ignored because of the way you were dressed. One of the first things you learn unofficially when working at Apple retail is that how a customer is dressed (or how old they are) is no way indicative of either their knowledge level, or how much they'll spend in the store (which doesn't matter anyway because you don't get commission).

Back on topic, I find it hard to believe that an Apple employee would mimic as disfigured customer ever, much less continue when she's aware the customer is watching. The common sense reaction should be "crap, that customer's going to complain to the manager and I'm fired", and the employee would stop. For her to continue makes absolutely zero sense. IMO, the only resolution for this issue is to talk to her manager.

Reporting them won't do much for your self-esteem. What you need to do is confront the girl and give her a head-butt... How you like my face now?!

LOL, thanks

I'm just wondering why you chose to bring this up? It can't just because it's an Apple store. Is it the fact that it is an Apple store that you feel even more bothered? Sure it shouldn't happen at all but it does and it happens anywhere to strange looking people everywhere. Likely this kind of thing has happened before to you at other places and even when you were young. Have you written about other occurances like this? I've always been treated with respect at the Apple store I go to.

I think I wrote about it because it upset me and I have unrealistic expectations from apple. It's like when I buy software from them and actually expect it to work. I do like their products and have more than one of each.

I should have taken the girl's pic with my iphone.

It has happened in other places but not after I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars to buy their stuff.

I think you should defiantly bring this to the managers attention. If not, you should try and put it past you as your only going to get yourself worked up.

First of all I think they were definitely in the wrong and you should complain. Although anyone else think this post has a touch of irony? The Apple shop near me seems to be staffed exclusively by "funny looking people". Everyone there has either a bizarre hairdo, weirdly trimmed facial hair, outlandish tattoos, painful looking piercings or any and every combination of these looks.

What's so unbelievable about the OP's post? There's no need for hostility.

What was so hostile about his skepticism ? I'll tell you what is so unbelievable about the OP's post : the girl making faces at him, even when he's starring at her. I've never seen a CS rep act like that, even though they were the most immature juvenile teen I'd come accross. Not to mention the fact that the poster just register, it all seems like a big troll.

I realized that "hostile" wasn't the best word after my post but neglected to edit it. I have found that quite often on these forums there is an undue level of skepticism that creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. I'd prefer if posts such as his were omitted unless there is an overwhelming sense of absurdity to a thread. While it may be possible that the OP embellished the details, I see nothing for him to gain by making up such a story, especially considering that this thread hasn't received a remarkable amount of attention which is the only other plausible reason for creating it.

Assuming that you know the time of your appointment, you could call, ask to talk to the manager, and he or she would be able to pull the security tape. I encourage you to do so, that was just unacceptable.

Why sweat over the little stuff, if you are as you described "funny looking" then you are being unrealistic to think that people will always treat you with respect and dignity.

Unfortunately it is in the species to react negatively to things that are different, not positively. Whether it be a man with a hole in his head or a English man in Scotland, if you stick out or act out of the norm you will be treated with distrust, prejudice or even fear and disgust.

Get over it and live your life without worrying about what other people think of you.

Trolls are not about gain, just about reaction. And 2 pages of ":mad:" is plenty good responses for a troll, especially on a forum like this. I'm with the other guy, this sounds mighty fishy and unless we have a separate account of what really happened (if it even happened at all), I'm more inclined to believe this was all made up to try and get a reaction out of people.

Personally, I would wait for her shift to end, follow her home, and then give her free facial deconstructive surgery. But, I'm a psychopath. :)

lol everyone who knows you, or goes anywhere near you can only hope you said that as a joke:p

Given you are correct, you should have confronted her.

However, how do you know for sure that it was directed at you? I've had people talking or giving looks to people behind or next to me, even close up, and I swore they were directed at me, but weren't. Perhaps there was another employee or friend behind or next to you?

Furthermore, what do you mean by "making faces?" Were they rolling their eyes? Signs of disgust? Laughter? You're telling us nothing.

So what if you have some physical shortcomings? Why do you assume that is the root of their actions, if they even were directed at you. It seems you're a little too self conscious. Maybe that was real the problem.

Frankly, by posting here, you accomplish nothing. Honestly, it looks as though you're just cruising for some sympathy. Pathetic.

Of course, I could be wrong, and she was just rude towards you. Either way you took no action. That still leaves you as pathetic by posting it up. Get over it. If I had a post for every time I thought someone did that too me, I'd be considered a spammer.

What did you seek to accomplish? If it was just a rant, I think that's considered spam (in addition, you did sign up just for this one post, correct?).

People these days.

PS: If she asked if you would be more comfortable elsewhere, perhaps you were acting strangely? How would we know? The point I forgot to make was, we weren't there, we can make no deductions because the only story we have is yours, and what if that's wrong?

I could ask you the same thing, since you have absolutely nothing to add other than a post filled with your own cynicism.

People these days.

I was thinking the same exact thing as I typed that, but I was hoping nobody would notice.

it was something that you could not of controlled, personally when I attend one to one classes I simply talk to the tutor and look at my mac - you are there for one reason only

one time, I was buying cereal. a man pushed into my trolley and called me a wh*re. it didn't bother me, I simply went back to my cereal - I couldnt have ever controlled that (or stopped it)

that girl will probably forget you

Really wish OP would give more details about the store and the girl so we could write the store about what happened. Also it would provide a little conviction which is perhaps what some of the more cynical posters would need. It's fair to be cynical on the internet, you get a lot of frauding, some brazen, some subtle.
