Oh ok, I guess I took both the ATI 5770 and the 5870 as the "upgrade" options with the default card not being announced...

Wow the 5770 should be more than fast enough for me for a while.

I was thinking about the top of the line 27" iMac but I'd hate to give away that gorgeous 27" display in a couple of years when I want to get a faster mac. For some reason, no matter how great the iMac is with the price/performance and sexiness, its never really appealed to me. I just dont like that all in one deal.

All pricing here seems predicated correctly from these forums for the past few weeks....No sign of 27" LED though...

Current "Buy Now" graphic from the page links to the 24" still....

Massive educational discounts for the higher up models though.

Save $300 off 8 core, save $450 off 12 core.

Now the REAL question comes for how much I can get the older Nehalem Mac Pros with a discount at the stores.

Nope, I think the REAL question is why the UK store is only showing the 12-core model for £4000 - no quad or oct. (Not the first time that the UK store update has been messed up recently; the UK Education stores seem to be working fine though, just as before.)

Ordered! 3.2 Quad with 5870 and a wireless keyboard to boot.

Good night to you all and have a merry, but kidney-less christmas.

Its so late now, I've got the munchies...

Ouch!! My left testicle hurts.

LOL, does anyone have a chart of model to performance to price comparison for the last 3 models including the 2010's ? (performance excepted until real world benches are out)

I reckon an steep upward curve (not saying exponential) would be roughly plotted..

Man after looking at the prices, the iMacs look very enticing.

I can buy the 2.93GHz iMac and a 27" cinema display and it'll STILL BE CHEAPER than the 8/12 core mac pros!!

yes, iMacs are INCREDIBLE value. BUT if you need the expandability and flexibility of the MP then you have to donate :p
