Hey there. I made this request in another forum here, but figure I should post it again in the appropriate place. I am a college student buying a MBP for college and personal use-- I'm a Mac developer and music composer, having reached the limits of my old G4 a long time ago. This is my big upgrade for the century, but thx to Apple I'm very stretched as far as money goes.

Just wondering if anyone has a promo code I could use-- I'd be most appreciative :) and will contribute my own in about 8 days. I'd rather not wait, because I'm trying to get the Mac before the fall semester begins.

Thanks so much!

Have you thought about using your student ID to get the student discount? I got about $200-$300 off and a free iPod nano, which is a pretty good deal. You can put your iPod on ebay and sell it if you don't want it. It will probably go for $190 brand new easily, since retail is $199.

And get a $100 printer and use the $100 rebate and make another $90 or so on a new printer on ebay.

Excellent suggestions. Selling back the printer & iPod will be a huge help. As for the student discount, I'd already calculated that, and was hoping for another $30 or so off to buy keyboard/mouse. But something I read on Apple's site just now seems to indicate that promo codes may not work with the Edu discount. Is this true?

I would love it if someone could just confirm whether or not the .mac trial thing still works. I am 30 days into it and still no sign of a coupon. I just want to know if I am holding off on my purchase for nothing.

Thanks

Hey all,

I'm one of the main developers for the iTheater Mac Media Center application. My mini just bit the dust, so I am going to replace it with a MBP... which should also help speed development along too :)

Does anyone have a code they could give to an open source developer? I would really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!

I love these people. Go get your own codes! Quit begging!

Does "Official Apple Store Promo Code (Coupon) list" mean anything at all? If people aren't actively sharing their spare promo codes, then IMHO it's perfectly fine for others to request them. If you'd like to start a thread entitled "How to Get Coupons All By Yourself Without Begging" then by jolly go start one. :)

Cheers

Well, going by the title, it appears that this thread is for a list of codes, not people begging for free money.

Unlike other vendors, Apple's US codes are one-time-use. Once a code is posted and used, it's a goner and therefore no use to more than one person. It is perfectly valid for people to ask *respectfully* for codes here.

Promo for education store?

Hi,

About to buy a new iMac and I can't wait. I've got my mouse over the 'place order' button :)

Does anyone have a promo code they could spare? Not sure if it matters, but I'm using the Canadian education store.

If anyone could PM a code they're not going to use it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

UPDATE: I ended up ordering without a promo code. I'll be sure to post one if apple sends one to me.

jrodatus --- Oh nicey put!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish that I would have gotten a promo code when I bought my iMac (I didn't "beg" for one---just asked), but I didn't....oh well. Bought my new computer anyway!!!

Begging, asking, or trading promos codes is a great way to save a little money and help out your fellow Apple users in the process.

Hey guys
Yet another starving student here...my Toshiba finally crapped out on me and I need a new one so I'm going with the MacBook for reliability reasons as soon as possible. Hoping that someone can help me out and I will definitely pass it along to someone else as soon as I get my email with mine in it. If you can help me out, please PM me.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Hi all, I am looking for a coupon (really hoping/begging). I'm looking to get my first Mac, which would be my first time "switching". I've been eyeing a Mac mini for a long time and I want to join the party :)

Please post/PM me. I'm also willing to trade for a coupon, just lemme know. And of course, should Apple send me a coupon later I would return the favor.
