Awesome Place and Thread!

Hey there everyone!

I just stumbled upon this forum tonight, and I sure am impressed! I'm looking to be a new Mac owner here sometime soon, and was browsing the web trying to find out more about the MacBook that has wooed me, and found this place. I'm currently a PC guy, but have always secretly loved Macs and wished I had the money for one. Now, with all the deals and everything that Apple is doing, I actually can be! The only problem is how hefty the tax is on this thing ($150! Yikes!), and that sent me looking in this thread for a coupon code.

If anyone has anything that could help me out in my Apple Store (U.S.) purchase of a MacBook, please send me a PM or Email. I haven't purchased it yet, so any % off or $ off coupon (the $30 one maybe?) would be very appreciated! The $30 off one could buy me a nice little cover for my MacBook so it wont get smashed or crushed :)

Thanks so much in advance
-Cole

Code for us average schmoes! Huzzah!

I have a coupon code for savings of 5% on purchases greater than $1999 made at the US apple online store (yeah, that's MBP territory!). That amounts to $100 off $2000, but it is restrictive:

* These are NOT good for the ed store, the gov store, or if your company already has a deal with apple.
* Your ship-to address MUST be in the US.
* These ARE good in the biz agent store, for refurbs, and the rest of us average schmoes who can't otherwise get a deal.

It is a one-time use deal so please do not request it if you are not going to use it. Shoot a PM on over if you can use it!

I am in-line to be a switcher :)...decided to buy a Macbook PRO in the coming few days using education discount. If anyone has any coupon code that I could use please do PM me. I know I might be being a bit greedy asking for coupon inspite of having education discount :D...but hard on cash and my Mac dream is a long cherished one :).

Looking for additional incentitive to buying a MAC Mini.....

Hello to all!!! My spouse bought a MAC laptop a couple of weeks ago, maybe a month or two now. (Time sure does fly).

Anyway, I am thinking about making the switch to a "real" computer, since a currently have a Dell Desktop PC, and my spouse thinks that I should get a new system. We did not know about any additional incentives when we purchased the laptop, and just decided to shop for coupon codes and found this site. (Which has helped me learn a lot MACs. Thanks to all the great posts!) We already knew about the Educational Discount, which is great, since I just returned to college last fall after a 20 year absense.

Long post (trying to be) short. If there is anyone that can send me a PM about a discount copon code that would be great. Thinking about making our purchase soon...if going to make the switch.....so that I can learn the system before school starts up again in August, which means that I will have only a few weeks to shop, buy, and learn. So will probably be looking at buying within the week from the on-line store or maybe from the Apple store, if we can afford the system. Otherwise, going to have to be stuck in the yucky PC world. LOL

Thank you in advance to any replies regarding coupons, tips, etc.
:)

apple promo code

Friends,

I have come to the realization that an Apple is the best laptop I could buy. In saying that I am not able to get an educational discount as I graduated last year (sidenote- and making less money than when I was going to school) . Therefore, anyone that could help me out with a promo code, the more off the better lol, I would be greatly indebted to them. I do have aspirations of buying a new Macbook any day now just hoping to get a promo code to alliviate some of the burning in my pocket. Thanks alot everyone.

A friend of mine bought his iBook from the student platform and it seems thatthose student discount are not that of a good deal. These computers seem to have lots of problems and often come back to the Apple Store. They usually are ite that did not work out too well when coming out of the production chain.

Well at least that's what I heard...and that's what an Apple reseller told my friend

For those people asking for coupon codes - and sorry if this sounds harsh - but instead of begging, get your own. Seriously folks - put in some effort and get your own damn coupons. It has been posted before how you can get coupon codes from Apple - stop begging and do some work for a change instead of asking for handouts. Here are three ways:

1) Sign up for a new Dot-Mac account and purchase ONE song off iTunes using that new account. Wait couple of weeks for coupon from Apple to arrive via email. Spend $0.99+tax and a $30 coupon will be emailed to the Dot-Mac email address you created.

2) Create a free email account on Yahoo Mail or Gmail and use that account to sign up at the Apple Store. Wait a couple of weeks for coupon to arrive in the email. A $30 coupon will be emailed to the email address you provided when signing up.

3) Keep an eye out on PriceGrabber.com when new Apple computer designs and speed bumps are announced. Create an account on PriceGrabber and request the bonus form. You get a product review bonus for reviewing said computers, and other peripherals. Right now, the speed-bumped Macbooks introduced in May, and the refreshed 15" and 17" Macbook Pros introduced in June, have a product review bonus of $15, $20 and $25 each, respectively

The last tip is open to the FIRST 50 people who request the bonus, ONLY, so you have to be quick. Do a search for these laptops and look under the "rebate" link. It does not matter where you buy your Mac from - direct from Apple or a reseller. Just request the bonus in time, post a review, then mail copies of the bonus form, invoice of purchase and UPC from the packaging to the address listed. You will get your check in 6-8 weeks. I have gotten checks for reviewing the wireless Mighty Mouse ($5), 4 gigs of Crucial memory ($5), 15" Macbook Pro ($20) and a Macbook ($15). They add up.

I posted two coupon codes here - one person used it and was nice enough post back to thank me. The other coupon someone just used w/o any appreciation. All I see are posts asking for coupon codes - but no post backs thanking others if someone received the coupon. It looks bad on all the peeps begging for handouts.

Seriously, put in some effort and get your own coupons instead of begging.

Okay, then. Gandhi got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning...:):)

Seriously, those methods are great tips. But they don't *always* work and this is a good place to discuss that.

I agree that it is nice for recipients to at least thank the donor via PM, if not publicly, and to return to the forum to contribute. A good reminder, folks.

yeah I definitely did not get a coupon code for signing up at apple (about a month ago). I need a laptop for when I head off for CMU on Aug 18th. After several months of research and anticipation of the new Santa Rosa platform, I have decided I want to get a MBP as not only is it a sweet piece of hardware, but the school has a lot of support for Macs and I eventually need to get accustomed to using a unix based operating system. However, its price tag is a little hard to swallow and a coupon code would be certainly appreciated.

thanks :)

Okay, sorry, that came off as a bit harsh. But those tips still apply. And I just checked I see that the $25 and $20 product review bonuses for 17" and 15" MBPs are still available on Pricegrabber site. Easy money there - as I have always gotten my checks. Will be mailing about $40 worth of review forms this week.

Codes for Toronto Stores?

Hi,
I'm buying a Mac Pro here in Toronto in the next month (after lots of delays) and wondered if anyone had any codes that they could/would share - either for hardware or software of any sort.

Thanks,
GVDV

I have a $40 off of $400 or more code. I just bought my mac so it came 2 weeks too late so I hope someone else can use it. Code expires August 15, 2007.

Amazon: $75 rebate and no tax (8%?)

Anyone trying to save money....

I'm going to buy my mom's imac at amazon. $75 rebate and no tax. That beat the education savings.

ps. Make sure you find the Macs sold by Amazon and not another retailer....not sure if the other ones are offering the same rebate/no tax thing.

Hey there. I made this request in another forum here, but figure I should post it again in the appropriate place. I am a college student buying a MBP for college and personal use-- I'm a Mac developer and music composer, having reached the limits of my old G4 a long time ago. This is my big upgrade for the century, but thx to Apple I'm very stretched as far as money goes.

Just wondering if anyone has a promo code I could use-- I'd be most appreciative :) and will contribute my own in about 8 days. I'd rather not wait, because I'm trying to get the Mac before the fall semester begins.

Thanks so much!
