I should be getting my ASD today. It’s a nano and I have a question
I know you can only use the supplied cloth.
But is using an air blower ( hand pump kind-same one used to dust camera sensors) ok to use to remove dust?
I assume it is. But wanted to double check

Thanks
The air blower should be fine. I think they are worried about rubbing the display with something abrasive, which would wear down the nano-texture on the surface of the glass.

Thanks. I accidentally posted this in the order thread and meant to post in owners.

How many people on this thread are still waiting for their order from 3/8 to be processed
Nano/tilt+height - still in process - delayed 2 or 3x - currently have a 7/7-7/14 window -
Doesn't seem like it will ever ship.......
I see others with order dates in the teens that are shipping - must be something with the tilt and height?

I ordered mine on 9 March. Was due to arrive late April. Then got bumped to 30 May—15 June. Nothing happening yet, and starting to think it might get bumped again.

It’s the tilt/height nano texture, and I’m in the UK.

Original ETA 7.Apr - 14.Apr
Bumped to 17.Jun - 1.Jul
Still in 'Processing' purgatory (as of today, 10.Jun)

Curious if anyone has any thoughts here…about a week ago - apple finally charged my CC and my tilt/height ASD moved to “preparing to ship” where it’s now just sat for a week…i thought they didn’t actually charge you until it was about to be handed off to the carrier??

Anyone else with this experience?

Well it was an insane journey getting UPS to deliver the ASD, but it came early this week.
In the end it involved having UPS dispatch calling, me, the driver, making him double pinky promise to deliver, and then call me back to assure it was on the way and if not, to call them back.

I*m sure the only reason dispatch called, was because Apple got involved, so it was worth it to me to contact Apple, not to mention, that they even rebated me 70€ on the purchase for all the hassle, and it really was a huge hassle.

I've just finished doing the cable management and thought I'd share the set up. We don't have a lot of space, so I've gone with a vertical system, ASD and iPad Extended Display on the desk. Mac Studio above in the cabinet which also kills the fan noise, along with a couple of LaCie hard drives, though they are so loud sounding now, that I'm not keeping them plugged in, time to upgrade to SSD external drives. A 43" Samsung TV is just to the right of the picture.
The final result is very satisfying compared to what we had before, and I'm already noticing a big increase in efficiency.

Mine went PTS and charged on June 2. Last night got an email from UPS saying it was scheduled for delivery today, followed by an email this morning said they only printed a label and Apple hasn't shipped it yet, so they will have to reschedule delivery. :D Apple is still showing it PTS. Standard glass, tilt/height.

I've been checking Apple store stock almost daily... got lucky today and found one about a 2 hour drive away! Bought it right away, and will pick it up this afternoon... sweet! (It's a standard glass, tilt only). Still have another on order with VESA mount, not sure if I'll cancel that or go for a second.

Keep it 😀 I ordered one on release day and when it arrived I liked it so much I immediately ordered a 2nd. Now I’ve been waiting 2 months for it to arrive.

UPS is now showing me TWO labels that have been created for one display, and says it will arrive tomorrow even though they have not gotten the package yet. I do not believe it.

Apple still shows PTS.

Hi everyone,
On Thursday, 6/9, I finally received my ASD (nano/tilt/height) that I ordered on 3/8.
So far, I like it, I am going to use it mainly for photo editing (lightroom/photoshop)....which is why I went nano.
Its also facing a window that does get direct sun during part of the morning/afternoon.
Strange thing is - I guess because I had so much time between order and delivery - I read so much about the ASD...
especially the nano glass - I can't decide whether or not to exchange it for a regular glass?
I don't have any issues yet - text seems fine for my use - its next to a BenQ display that is also kinda matte -
I kinda think its just because I read a lot of reviews going one way or the other.....
I only have 12 days, I think for an exchange - which looking at the current inventory in my area - would be august for standard glass---- not sure its worth the trouble for an exchange...
Looking for opinions...

thanks

I'm not an expert but wouldn't standard glass be better for color accuracy if your photo editing?
Colors are more vibrant on glossy screens vs matte.

At the same time I'm not sure if it's worth the wait to exchange it if you decided to go that route.

Honestly, I think you are the target audience for nano glass. You have a facing window that will cause lots of glare. Your tasks are photo editing, which isn’t primarily text and benefits from a lack of glare. Unless it bothers you in use, I’d stick with the nano.

Or you can get blinds and have better text and color accuracy. :)

I know others have chimed in and I agree with all sentiments, but I will add one more suggestion for what it’s worth. Both Apple Store and Best Buy here in NYC have at least one Standard Apple Studio Display on Customer Display with non Nano Glass (none in Stock though!!!). If you have an Apple Store by you or Best Buy with one on Display, you might want to see it in person to help you with making a final decision. If you have a more mom and pop place or it’s not particularly busy store, they may allow you to do a side by side comparison. All of that said, I think you’d be happy with either, even if one is a ”better” fit so I wouldn’t let it overly stress you.
