Funny,

My ASD standard glass, tilt stand still listed as May 6 - 13 for expected delivery while not yet out of the Processing phase.

Meanwhile my Studio Max 10/24, 654GB, 1TB SSD had it's timeline adjusted to Jun 22 - 29 now is showing as Preparing to Ship.

This is puzzling and also disturbing at the same time.

I ordered my pair of ASDs VESA Mount from Apple back on March 31st with delivery scheduled for May 29 - June 11. On April 9th ordered a pair of ASDs VESA Mount from Best Buy with in store pickup and got them on April 19th. After setting them up cancelled my order with Apple. If you are in the USA, you should try going to your local Best Buy to see if you can order them with in store pickup.
Thanks. I may do that this weekend. But I suspect that there are very few ASDs available to Best Buy and other resellers like Costco and B&H. There was a window of opportunity several weeks ago when it was at least possible to get a tilt adjustable, standard glass ASD from those places. But I foolishly believed Apple's revised Apr 29 - May 6 delivery window, thinking it wouldn't be so bad to wait a bit longer for the ASD I really wanted. Now, my ASD may arrive up to almost six weeks from today, and I don't even trust that.

Some Mac Studios are arriving sooner than Apple's estimate (both mine did), but ASDs seem to be doing the opposite.

Yeah it certainly appears the Mac Studios are arriving earlier than anticipated and the Display not so much. Making me rethink if I want to hold out on one or just go with the Samsung M8 or Dell UltraSharp

The M8 is a terrible option given the low DPI which is nowhere near Retina, which doesn't work well with macOS. That and it's not even an IPs Panel. I avoid 4K 27" monitors since they have problems in macOS as they can only really scale without problem at 1080p, which is too big and a loss of screen real estate and scaling to 2K has issues with text being blurry among other issues. This is because macOS cannot do fractional scaling, thus any resolution besides 2x or 1x won't look good.

This article explains why 27" and 32" 4K displays are a bad option for macOS. You are better off with a non-retina display, although font smoothing is gone.

I have placed an order for a Glass Vesa Mount Studio Display at B&H with an estimated wait time of 7-14 days, before it went temporarily out of stock. If it somehow ships earlier, I will cancel my Apple order. I only need one for now, which will be my main display and my LG 2K Colorprime Thunderbolt 2 display will become my secondary.

You have to go in person to your local Best Buy and ask the Best Buy employee to check in their terminal, not with an iPhone. You can also go to the customer service counter and ask them to check. You have to bring the SKU number which for the ASD VESA Mount is SKU:6501569.

The problem is supply chain issue and obviously cost. Actually the M8 at this moment is looking like early June at the earliest according to Samsung so I throw that option out. The Dell UltraSharp is looking like it is available so that may be another option.

If Apple would have released the Studio Display without the Webcam and Speakers I would be more than happy with that. I have no need for speakers as I use external monitors and the built in webcam is not something I hardly ever use. Plus I ran into an issue recently with my iMac where I was taking an online exam at home and they wanted a full scan of my room (top to bottom, 360 degree, and full scan of my desktop). Imagine maneuvering a 20 lb iMac while attempting to do that. It literally took me 5 times before they were satisfied.

Thanks for that. I knew about not using the iPhone to check but not about having to give them the SKU.

I would've been OK without a webcam, but since they included one, I wish it were better than I've heard.

Another option is the LG 5K monitor, though it's not quite as bright, and the industrial design isn't as good. I've found places where I they're available now, but they're not that much less expensive than the ASD.

Yeah the price difference for me isn't enough to sway me from just sticking with the ASD. If it were under $1,000 then that would be a different story.

I currently have the tilt and height model on order which is due June 14th-28th. I would like a monitor I can use with both a Mac and a PC--but most of the time it will be used with a PC. My PC laptop actually outputs full 5K as I tried it in store which is nice - but of course you can't adjust the brightness from the PC. I have a Dell 4K monitor which works great with the PC, but doesn't scale well with the Mac at all. Might as well be a 1080p monitor. I'll probably end up cancelling unless Apple releases an update that allows basic adjustments.

I’m in same boat. Ordered within an hour on first day orders were up. Originally April 7-14, then 22-29, just today bumped to May 23-30. Nano + Height-adjustable

Received it yesterday! Kind of can’t believe after all those bumps.

Was at the Apple Store today, really interesting that they replaced all the glass ASD's with the nano-texture models. They also removed the ones with tilt and height and replaced them with tilt only. I must say that I was pretty disappointed using nano-texture, the text and color was not as crisp and vibrant as the iMac I have at work. Either way, patiently waiting for my July ship date!

This is very interesting. I've checked my local one 3 times over the past month and they've always only had 2 Tilt Only Standard Glass screens. Figured it was because the Nano Texture is hard to clean or whatever.

I ordered mine (nano+tilt) later in the day of the announcement and got a shipping range of 5/9-5/23. As it was getting close to 5/9 I decided to look for this order thread.
I must say, I am disappointed to see people’s dates getting bumped. Though it looks like a few finally received their displays. I know supply chains suck right now, but I wouldn’t have guessed a monitor to be so backed up.
At least this thread helps manage my expectations.

Yeah, I've actually never seen a nano-texture iMac, XDR, or ASD in an Apple Store before. Was really strange!

I ordered mine on April 15th with a delivery date of May 23-30. What are the odds of it coming in time? The status of the order says "Your order will be available soon"

Trying to determine if it's worth looking to buy off marketplace or ebay if this date is going to be pushed out a lot.

Very low odds tbh. But look around, scour all retailers to see if you can get one and still keep your order with Apple. If you find one, just cancel with Apple and no charge. That’s what I did. Finally located one here last weekend and it was delivered on Wednesday.

Where did you locate yours? Bestbuy and Costco say they are sold out.

Sorry, I'm all the way over in Ireland! Same situation here, Apple online order was delayed and every retailer I tried was out of stock. I kept searching though and found one, their last unit in stock. Made them confirm they physically had it and ordered and then cancelled the Apple online order.

As was stated a few posts ago, with Best Buy you have to go to a store and have them look in their system, rather than checking in the app. But since other retailers can't seem to get them, I suspect Best Buy can't either. It doesn't hurt to keep looking, though — you may get lucky.

That's the key point if any store shows they have it, call them and make them physically confirm it's in their stock room and have them reserve it and then go pick it up in person and pay for it then.
