Since 11.2 Apple decided to throttle my iPhone 7 by 50%. I’m seriously pi**ed. My iPhone is only slightly over one year old. This is totally unacceptable. Anyone else experiencing this with their iPhone 7s? What can I do?

Aside from contacting Apple to get a (hopefully free) battery replacement, the only other thing to do is something along the lines of what's being discussed at Apple Being Sued for 'Purposefully Slowing Down Older iPhone Models'

I’m facing the exact same issue. See my thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-7-performance-since-ios-11.2096030/

Attached are screenshots of my iPhone 7 geekbench scores before and after iOS 11.2.5 update (vs. 10.3.3). CPU DasherX reveals I’m being throttled to 1GHz clock speed!

But how can you actually complain? I doubt Apple will acknowledge GeekBench results as a valid argument?

Hmm but in your case, it's difficult to say if the bad results are because you're running a beta or not? Beta versions of iOS often give bad Geekbench scores. My Phone is throttled to 1644 MHz according to CPU Dasher X. It should be running at 2350 MHz :/

Has anyone actually tried calling Apple or been in an Apple store, in order to get the problem fixed (free battery replacement)?

Guess my 7 Plus is throtled. It has lower scores than your normal 7 in 11.0.3

Currently running 11.2.5 beta 2, but I’m seeing the opposite on my almost exactly 1 year old 7 Plus. I’m getting about 500 points higher than the average 7 Plus according to Geekbench.

Did anyome try to update or restore their phones from iTunes? For the OP and others, I think restoring the phone from
iTunes sometimes helps.

Check your phone's battery health with Coconut Battery. If it's below 80%, Apple will replace your battery if under warranty.

It’s unfortunately 85% with 725 cycles. I’ve read that they only replace batteries for free that are 80% or below and under 500 cycles. So I guess I’m out of luck. I just can’t accept that my 1 year old phone runs slower than a new iPhone 5s :/

Still quite a bit nonetheless which can certainly play into the overall health of the battery (even if the capacity part of it might not be as heavily hit).

Maybe, but still. I prefer my phone to have a shorter battery life rather than having an insanely slow phone

Well, it shouldn't really be insanely slow unless perhaps the battery is truly in bad shape and/or something is up with the power management changes that were put in for it all. That aside, it seems that it's not so much about shorter battery life but unstable battery life that can cause the device to just suddenly unexpectedly to shut off (perhaps in the middle of you doing something or while you have your phone somewhere thinking it's on and everything is fine while it has shut off without you even realizing it). Not a good outcome either way if those kinds of things would be happening. Seems like the solution, or at least a workaround, would be to get the battery replaced.

It seems like my cpu clock speed on my X is under but with heavy load it would go up to 2.376

Would someone else confirm cpu clock frequency 2064 as a resting base?
