Apple TV app just jumped the shark.

And look at their logo now💀

So maybe mr «Can’t Innovate Anymore. My 🍑» was actually right? I mean LOOK AT THEIR ICON. It is a f…ing digital circus. People left Facebook and many leave Instagram too because of So.Many.Ads and trashy content in general, trashy feed algorithm and UI design done by 12 y.o. schoolboys working on freelance

I don't think it works that way... the angle DOJ is taking is for Apple to allow a more open system (now that the iPhone hold such a large market share in the US). For instance, the reason why iMessage is so popular in the US is because Apple only grant themselves to access SMS.

DOJ won't force Apple to make applications for other hardware but allow their hardware to be open to use with other applications.
Right, I'm not saying they will specifically force them to add iMessage support for android. But Apple might eventually do that as a byproduct of a successful lawsuit.

I think the byproduct of this lawsuit is supporting RCS and not doing a half attempt with it. Because Apple only carrying it out is due to China.

And there’s rumors that Apple won’t implement encryption for RCS.

It's all about the hardware, the software is nonsense. This will only confuse even more people. Hell, many iPhone users dont know what an Apple TV is, then when they learn its also an app, they really get lost.
Many people also don’t know how to restart their phone, etc, doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a way to do it! Now I can finally watch my Apple account owned content on my Pixel Tablet, etc.

What gets forgotten with iMessage is that it hasn't always been here, SMS was first and then Apple created iMessage because SMS sucks and so iMessage therefore makes iPhones more appealing. Withholding it from Android became important to Apple of course, just like Tesla superchargers became a tremendous advantage for them, but it's not like Apple deliberately "******ifies" SMS just like Tesla doesn't sabotage rival stations. iMessage is so superior of course that consumers want it to be the standard just like a Chevy Bolt owner would want to charge at Tesla. Maybe Google should have just given Apple another couple billion a year to open iMessage as a standard like it does for search defaulting? Either way I think RCS addresses most of what everyone complains about with texting cross platforms anyway.

BlackBerry thought their BBM is attractive enough to maintain its users, then what happened to BlackBerry.

Apple will make iMessage exclusive until iPhone sales starting to falling to ground.

Finally. This was always ridiculous to me. They’re losing out on eyeballs by not opening it up to Android. I’m sure actors also would rather do a Netflix movie than an Apple TV movie for that reason.

Actors are doing films with whoever offers the biggest check. Apple TV isn’t hurting for big name stars in their projects.

Apple TV+, News+, Fitness+, and Arcade are failed services. They embody mediocrity and have only grown to their current size by being bundled with Apple Music and iCloud storage. I would be relieved if Apple shut them all down tomorrow and stopped trying to shove their bland, glossy, family friendly content down our throats.

I began avoiding Apple TV more than a year ago due to the inability to turn off the "HDR" feature. Highly annoying. Causes my screen brightness to vary depending on ambient light detected by my Macbook's camera
That's literally how HDR works

This is great news for a (presumably) really small section of users who've completely left the Apple device ecosystem but have hundreds of movies and TV series on Apple TV. I mean, I wonder if I'm the entirety of that demographic..

Not enough Apple customers want to pay for Apple TV, then.
AppleTV+ continued growth via Apple One Services will gladly offer AppleTV+ on Android. It's available on all sorts of TVs so it makes sense a client would reach Android. The Telcos will subsidize it as a perk for Android consumers.

Well, if Apple is being forced to let competitors in to its own back yard, it’s only right Apple ventures out into other playgrounds too.
