there are about 20 on the shelves at the Tyson's Virginia Apple Store.
You're trying way to hard to disprove something initially declared to be a fun rumor on a rumor site forum. And btw, almost everything you said so far was wrong. Retailers inventory has historically been indicators to a product refresh. The store links you created are NOT for new/available products. And using big words doesn't make someone sound like an expert.
What year? Apples partnership with Best Buy is a lot more controlled than it was prior to the "Apple Store within a Store" initiative. This is incorrect.
Years ago I worked at both Circuit City and Best Buy and we'd see fake model numbers pop up all the time for stuff, and then disappear later.

1999? So am I really "incorrect" or are you outdated? (I'm kidding)This was 12 yearish ago. I wasn't stating Apple products specifically, just products in general. It happens all the time regardless of brand.
I went to Best Buy with my mom to get her an Apple TV this weekend, thinking they'd surely have them in stock. Gone from ALL regional best buy stores. Update is imminent!
I'm not saying here might not be an update, but Best Buy's inventory isn't necessarily the indicator I would use (in bold no less). An update is "imminent" if you have an elastic definition of imminent. Like the next 18 months. Remind me I said this if they announce a new ATV on. Tuesday.![]()
Apple tv 3 will be announce on march 7
Along with the ipad 3
what features will it have? Will it be an actual tv?
1080p & hulu
Hulu is my only complaint about AppleTV. But I guess what I'd ideally want to see is a limited app store for channels. ABC.app, TNT.app, HBOGo etc. Even if they would charge a SMALL fee per month, an a la carte menu of channels we actually watch through AppleTV could be a lot cheaper than most of our $60-120 cable bills.

Not my problem nor my argument. You'd have to have that argument with whomever wrote that article; presumably Arn or Erik.
My argument is that MR uses the same information that the OP used to speculate on the future of Apple product refreshes.
I think the only one getting excited over anything is you. No one who has posted in this thread, thus far, seems to give a damn about purchasing the latest Apple TV product. Only that one may be introduced in the near future.
Potentially signaling its belief that the launch of the iPad 3 is imminent, Best Buy is now offering $50 discounts across the entire line of iPad 2 models, with pricing now beginning at $449.99 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi model.
They are showing "In Stock" at my Apple Stores in my city. I got one this past weekend. It was a lot on the shelves. But next week, they will probably announce ATV3. I'm debating if I will take my ATV2 back that I got a few days ago. The only thing I'm worried about is, it taking months to be jailbroken. I will probably stick with my ATV2 and wait on the ATV3 JB in a few months, then sell my ATV2 and use that towards the new one. I have no interest in a Non-JB ATV.
Edit: Two stores near me say, "Available Mar 2."
