Why do you think there needs to be some kind of fight or struggle for something to be able to be celebrated?

In your example, the British can’t celebrate their independence because they were never a colony. But they can celebrate being British, their culture. It’s totally fine and valid.

Also, to add, why is this culture of "tolerance" mocking "The last supper" at the Olympics? Imagine if this had been done the other way around--there would be outrage! There's a difference between demanding respect and earning respect!
