I can’t wait until tomorrow. A whole month. You will be made to care.
Ironically, while I’ve been enjoying following/discussing in this thread, I’ve totally forgot to order mine. I’ll get on that now, otherwise we may fail in our mission to ruin everything and become the dominant world power. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Yes, yes, everything is sinister and part of an insidious plot to destroy civilisation and freedom. We get it. Thanks for the warning.

This is why de-nazification is the only solution. Looks like Klaus Schwab has already figured this out.

Or to believe in only one god, or to keep the sabbath day holy, or to not worship idols. Because good religions do those things.
Correct, far better to worship man and man’s laws, treat an increasingly bizarre multicolored flag as a sacred object. Who knows what could happen if we sit down and recognize there’s a greater force than ourselves out there. We might put aside all of our differences and become better people for it. Can’t have that. More religion of pride please!

Better than following a 5000 year old rambling fantasy novel

We would just argue over who recognised that god the bestest it’s already been proven.

yet another weighty intellectual tome taking issue with the good book and trying thus to disprove it.
is not the author a follower of islam?
(try the koran if you want blood and gore)
but hey, this is a political thread not a theological one; so let us not spoil it.

Islam believes in and consider the old and New Testaments are holy books too. And they are still not “good” books, if you examine them in their entirety, instead to cherry pick a few non-offensive chapters & verses

and … have you actually read said books in their entirety?
one is a book of revenge, the other of redemption.
that’s the bottom line for me.

I’ve read the old & New Testament in their entirety. Only very specific parts are about redemption. If that is all you are interested in you can pick certain parts of selected gospels but you end up throwing out at least 80% of text.

Since everyone uses AI for everything now, I asked it that question. What percentage of the Old Testament and New Testament are related to redemption. And being how smart AI is it said the Bible does not compartmentalize based on theme but the message is interwoven through the texts. It did give this:

To provide a rough estimate:

  • Old Testament: While foundational themes of redemption are present throughout, a focused estimate might be around 30-40% if considering the major narratives, prophecies, and laws explicitly dealing with redemption.
  • New Testament: Given the centrality of Christ's redemptive work, the percentage could be around 60-70% or higher, especially when considering the explicit teachings and narratives about redemption.
