I'm hoping for a red leather band soon. I think that would pair well with all the watch cases.

Billionaire, Ray Dalio knows what I'm talking about ;).

I don't think Mr Dalio is wearing an apple watch though.
I wonder which watch it is!
I loved reading about his approach in market wizards book.

Traditionally, a "link" bracelet or Milanese bracelet are more for sport / casual wear, and leather straps are considered dress/formal.

Granted steel bracelets are common for dress use now, considering you see sport watches like the Rolex Submariner, Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, and Omega Aqua Terra for business attire (e.g. suits). But for true dress, leather strap is the way to go.

But for black tie / white tie formal events, definitely stay away from metal bracelets and stick with leather straps.

I'd say anything metal. I'm a Plant Accounting Controller for a large corporation and I bought the Milanese Loop to go with either a suit or business casual.

I know the Edition has the rubber band but I just can't get past it looking cheap. Comfy, but looks about as good as sweat pants.

What kind of thread is this without photos! I love seeing a nicely dressed guy. How about some watch photo taken with business or dressware. Curious what bands and watch faces you're sporting for a dressier look.

I wouldnt wear the sport model for sure

But SS with leather, link or Milanese would look fine

SS with black rubber would look okay too.
Especially these days when U.S. politicians with fine watches race to look more "humble" by putting on the cheapest watch their staff could find from a nearby Walmart.

Unless you're a politician the cheap watch look will never be in style with a suit

I wear a suit and tie daily, and although I miss my Movados and Gucci watches, I've been prettty happy with the Sport. I bought a couple of bands and some cases to change the colors and such. I still love it and know it's more than a basic watch.

I just use the common sport band. Although I think that the normal Apple Watch with a classic buckle would look better. But it's just not worth that much money.

I wear a suit to work everyday and am trying to find the perfect band. Originally I wanted the black leather loop, but in someways it looks even sportier than the black rubber band. (I'm getting the stainless steel Apple watch btw). For anyone else who wears a suit often, what band are you planning on getting?

Btw: don't forget about when you wear brown shoes/brown belt combos.

Same here. I wear the SS Classic Buckle, it's the perfect fit if you want Apple Watch and want classic look.

I can't decide between the SS link bracelet or the classic buckle. Both look good with a suit (I work at a law firm), the SS bracelet appears more 'showy and dressy', and the classic buckle appears more sophisticated and classy.

I have a blue leather loop for weekends and a more casual look, which is actually my favourite band. Just doesn't look smart enough with a suit.

Whow that link bracelet looks good indeed!

If you go to this thread at the top of the Macrumors page you can see a lot of 3rd party bands. Some are quite good looking especially the leather ones. They cover a full range of what seems to be available and a lot of the posters are more than willing to let you know where they got them.

Once you get the band adapter you can even get bands from the Dakota watch kiosk at many malls, some of the posters on this thread have and some of them are quite nice.

Show off your Apple WATCH!

Same here.

Actually received a few compliments with only my black sport band and space grey sport Watch. It's a 'safe' basic look that (I feel) still appears dressy enough to wear with a business suite. Clean and modern.
