I just drop my AW 10 on the charger for short while before I go to bed, and again in the morning while I make coffee. It charges so fast, that's plenty.

For a looooong day of travelling (like 10-hour flights to Europe) or whatever, low power mode solves that. Or just turn it off on the flight. Or put it on my power brick for 15 minutes or so to give it a boost.

But for hiking and camping I suppose the longer battery life of the Ultra would be more useful. But my idea of camping is a hotel with room service and plenty of power outlets lol.

In the US, Apple needs to settle their patent dispute to bring it back. The feature is turned off via software. Once the patent issue gets resolved an OS update to the watch will bring it back. If you live outside the US, blood ox works.
Wait, so does that mean we can tweak it to work if we set our account to the same time zone in Canada?😯

I love hiking so AWU makes sense for me, but I am from a... non first world country. So I must be smart with my purchases. lol. AW10 is fine.

What a foolish comment. You don’t think there is an aesthetic difference between a women’s watch and a men’s watch? A quick google search can show the difference. Or you can just get offended by everything 😂
You are probably in the minority who think the Apple series watches are feminine, so yes it is a foolish comment.

I doubt that view is in the minority. The ultra is indubitably more masculine than the standard apple watch, from both a size and an overall design standpoint. That of course doesn't imply men should only wear ultras or that women shouldn't wear ultras.

I got the S10 (46mm) in black recently. Going from a larger SE 2 it was like, stick to what I know best.

I don't think the Ultra would be a bad choice for me either, but the price puts me off tbh.

I'm very happy with my S10.

If we are looking only at the 10 vs Ultra, what about either gives them masculine vs feminine styling?

All I see is that the S10 looks elegant while the Ultra with its flat display and gaudy button gives me Fisher-Price vibes.

I didn't realise that the S10 has a larger display than the Ultra. Larger display at much less weight and thickness – sign me up! Battery life isn't an issue with my S6, I think a S10 would do me fine.

It is more masculine in my opinion as well, but that hardly means the regular apple watch is "feminine".

I have an Ultra 1 already and just want a titanium band (med). Too bad they aren’t available for at least another month.

I'd love a Silver-colored Titanium S10, but it's only available as an Hermés edition, and the premium is a little too high for my taste.

But what I'm most bummed about is Apple mismatching materials. They are not offering the S10 in Stainless Silver, but the Milanese and other metal bands are still SS instead of being updated to match the watches' Titanium.

Had the 6. Was all set for u3. Got the u2 black and completely satisfied with decision. Had rhinoshield on the 6 , and ultra is around that size, so used to the wrist area. For the outdoors type, I recommend ultra. For the glass alone. If u3 has significant improvements, will trade this one in. Also satisfied purchased from Apple. The s3 and s6 were the Verizon “free” with two year contract. Never again will I do that promotion for a wearable.

I’m a guy…I’m wearing the 10.

US has the same time zones as Canada too, it is not time zone related. I am not sure of all of the technicalities. I have read of folks jail breaking their devices and got the blood ox to work in the US. What hoops and loops you have to go through to do that though - no clue.

Long story short though, it is a software block only. The hardware is there.

Where was this article when preorders opened and I couldn’t decide?

I had initially ruled out the Ultra 2, but tried one on in the Apple Store and it actually didn’t feel too big on my wrist. However, in the end I went with the AW10, as I prefer my watches to be less bulky, especially if I am wearing them virtually 24/7 - the AW10 charges so quickly it is barely off my wrist.

The main reason that I went for the AW10 was the price jump to the Ultra 2 - I could have bought a whole other Apple Watch! And I thought that was too much to pay for better battery life.

If money was no object, I think I would still get an AW10, but I’d upgrade to the Titanium version.

I agree the AW is unisex up to a point. If you are a guy with a average/large wrist and wear the smaller version or a woman with an average/small wrist wearing the larger version, it can look like you’re wearing a watch meant for the opposite sex because historically women’s watches are smaller while men’s watches are bigger in accordance with the average size of women’s vs men’s wrists.

The AWU definitely looks more “rugged” which some could say makes it more masculine but I prefer to think of the AW as refined and elegant while the AWU looks more utilitarian.
