I bought 3 a couple days ago. Now maybe I should say screw giving them as gifts and instead price gouge someone willing to pay more for it right before Christmas. Anyone want an Ultra 2 for $1,500 + $250 handling fee? :D
You remind me of the PS5 “resellers” from three years ago. It took me three months to finally get my hands on a PS5 digital console.

I thought the digital consoles were the lesser desirable of the two? I struggled to get the disk version back then and it was the digital ones that were popping up available quite often.

No such thing. Embarrassment is just a self-imposed emotional limitation that prevents oneself from reaching one's full potential.

There would be no Apple (or Tesla) if Steve Jobs (or Elon Musk) got embarrassed by anything.
You think? ... I think embarrassment and shame are (sometimes) useful things for improving oneself or others.. There can be no evolution without evolutionary pressure...

Glad I was able to land two Apple watch ultra 2's before this garbage went into effect

Money is the root of all evil
I used to say the same thing, until someone told me: “people that do evil things for money or that only see evil things being done for money are usually the ones that say that. While we are at it, let me sacrifice myself and let me help you get rid of all that evil you have on you”.

And it makes a lot of sense.
Doesn’t have to be straight evil, just having a less than enjoyable job or a stressful daily gag or any job that has remotely a negative health/financial/time/etc impact on humankind at large (which could be any of the m legit foods, drinks, entertainment, vices, legal, financial, etc businesses) can make someone feel that way.

The CEO of Masimo is one of Hunter's buddies. (Yes, seriously, Hunter's stayed over for vacation and what not) Not going to rule in Apple's favor anytime soon.

Sadly this explains more than stacks of legal documents ever could.

Steve Jobs was famously friends with every president from Reagan to Obama. Guess Tim isn’t keeping up the relationships as well.

Surprised Apple hasn’t done many acquisitions, investments, JVs in health given the clearly laid wearables road ahead.

“Buy em out, boys” Bill Gates as seen on The Simpsons

The answer to all your questions is “money”
I think some one suggested that Masimo are not just interested in licensing just the IP, but that they may be after a deal to supply hardware which would not work for Apple. If this is true this would make the whole issue much more complicated and it would not be just about money but the feasibility of integrating 3rd party hardware into the Watch, something that is unlikely to be possible given the highly integrated hardware in the Apple Watch.

Come on Timmy just pay up get sales back on track and stop screwing the consumer over.

PAYUP. Imagine investors, legal, and others pointing the finger and saying I told you so.

I upgraded my old S6 to an S9 back in October, and I've been very pleased with it. I don't know whether this is truly a legitimate complaint of IP theft or more of a typical troll suit; but whatever the truth is, I hope the case is resolved. I also hope Apple doesn't end up having to disable or bypass portions of the hardware just because of some foolishness being argued in court.
😆 I still consider my S6 new after I upgraded from the S1 😆

And? That doesn't mean they can just go buy everything...
Well the CEO of Mosimo said he would settle with Apple if they approached him with an offer. They probably will come to a settlement agreement in the coming weeks. Apple will first try to experiment with this software work around Masimo’s patents. Apple has lots of patent Lawyers so we will see

Looks like I’ll need to turn off auto update on my AWU2 so it doesn’t get crippled by Apple
That only works for as long as it takes for an AW exploit comes out and you need a security update. I disable auto update too, but I really don't expect that to last very long.
