It makes you wonder why they do yearly updates if there hasn’t been any notable change since Series 4 except for the Always On Display.
Sadly it's a trend in general when it comes to electronics.
Shame they couldn't jump straight to 3nm. Especially if they keep the same chip for another 3 years.
3nm (as N3B) is still very expensive I guess. With transition to N3E next year we can expect more affordable waffers.

Like one of the posters above, I’m fairly content with the series 4. I had the battery replaced and felt like it extended the life. May do it again when needed until one of the following upgrades happen:
1.) improved process for chip creation resulting in improved efficiencies and battery life
2.) improved health functions - while I’m not diabetic, I would love to know more about blood sugar levels. I do find temperature interesting, but can wait.
3.) provide an e-ink display that is visible in outdoor sunny skies. I don’t need a color display truthfully, and if an alternative display would allow improved battery life, I’d take it in a heartbeat.

Wonder if we'll ever see what S7** was rumored to be

or if scrapped / was never real in first place

Not this thing again. It was never real just a result of Prosser wrongly assuming that because other Apple devices were moving from curved sides to flat ones then the Apple Watch would follow.

This of course completely ignored that the Apple Watch is a wearable device and it would be ergonomically horrible so was never going to happen. And if anything now Apple seems to be heading back to the curves.

I wish they’d make it thinner. Apple needs a separate product line for people who want thin, sexy devices like they used to make. Then they can keep making chunky, heavy devices for people who need sleep tracking and all that crap.

I don’t care about all day battery life. I wear my Apple Watch for about 10 hours a day and take it off and put it on the charger when I get home.

It‘s coming, like clockwork, every three years. So, 2024.
It hasn’t changed ?
Still very happy with my Apple Watch Series 4. I just got a new battery. Every year, I think the new model will convince me to upgrade, but so far I’ve been unimpressed with the new features.
How much did the new battery cost you? Mine died.

That’s a darn shame - every year it’s been an incremental / nothing upgrade. I want to buy a new watch so bad because my 4’s battery is so bad but apple keeps giving me reason not to

8 was the same as 7 and now this, the watch isn’t slow, they can’t even think of new ideas, give the series 9 the extra brightness or something

Boo that's a shame :(
I'm still rocking the Series 4 and have been waiting out on a new design.

I think the only thing that would sway me would a *much* better battery, not sure we'll see that though..
Always on from Series 5 is really a game changer. So is the Ultra.

I had a Series 5, replaced it with an Ultra, and now I'm holding out for another few years. Maybe 2026.
