Finished my stand ;-) Bring on the watch. I'm fairly satisfied with the charger cutout. I'd do it a bit cleaner next time.

Serious question for everyone...

Without a watch yet, and without seeing these stands in person, how are you going about selecting one?

Personally, while I like the idea of a stand, I know at the same time it's just going to be extra clutter sitting on my desk or wherever it's placed.

In the end I think I'm going to be content without a specialized stand for my watch.

Really impressive, nice work!! Did you use a forstner bit to make the hole for the magnetic charger?

I tried to find one. I actually used a 1 1/8" spade bit in a drill press. I ground down the sides just a tad to bring it closer to the diameter of the charging puck.

It was all I could get locally. If I end up making a handful of these I will just mill the pocket on a CNC mill at my work.

That's a great idea as well.

I prefer the thought of a stand so I don't have to dig for the cable when it falls beside the table or wherever. I can just set the watch on the charging limb and grab it again on the way out.

So I guess I don't understand. Why a watch stand? It doesn't make much sense to me.

You go upstairs and you just hang up your watch for charging rather than hunting for the charger which fell behind the bed.

Not a big deal but clever and convenient. JMO

If the watch screen is off while charging, then why bother to hang the watch at all?

I wish someone would create a stand template for a 3D printer, and we just print our own as we need it.

I'm a pit peeved (or maybe just impatient) that a lot of these manufacturers (real ones and crowdfunded ones) won't be shipping out until mid-May to late June.

Didn't a lot of them know about the :apple:WATCH and get specs for it way before launch, and don't they know a lot of people want to be prepped upon launch day?

Any UK folk after the Twelve South Hi Rise stand, it's appeared on Amazon today at a price of £39.99 with a release date of 29th April (for the black one at least).

It's listed by Twelve South, however fulfilled by 'Top-Tech Outlet'. I have contacted TS who have advised that they are an authorised seller of TS products.

One thing to note, they did say that due to manufactoring issues, 29th April may be a tad optimistic.

I quite like the Twelve South but it could be months yet. I am just going to wait for a dock to be come available with immediate delivery

3D printed stands?

Can't wait to see what the 3D printing community comes up with.
