That was one of my main gripes with the Alpine. Then I wondered how it would be wet from swimming or sweating? And of course, I kept smacking the Ultra with the Ti hook, haha!!

The Ocean is super comfortable. It took me completely by surprise. From the pictures, I thought it would be bulky and stiff. In person it's the opposite. Slim, very pliable and soft, and it seems to have better ventilation than the Sport bands. I wear it all day and it feels great.

The fit is perfect. It's got enough stretch to find the sweet spot. Plus, I dig the Ti buckle and strap keeper.

I also bought one in yellow, but I'm on the fence. The color is great, but I don't know how long it will look that nice with me wearing it, haha!!

tl;dr...The midnight Ocean band is awesome. Slim, soft, comfortable, and looks GREAT with the Ti :D

ETA: I also have a black/grey Trail loop on order, because the Sport loops are my favorite bands. But I'm keeping the Ocean band. It's that good.
Thanks! Yeah, I'll also end up getting a Trail Loop, whenever they are available!

I have a Black/Gray Trail Loop band on order from Amazon with delivery scheduled for Oct 3rd. My Ultra came with Yellow Ocean Band and I love it. To the point that I got the White and Midnight Ocean Bands too :) Tried the Alpine bands for a couple of days and returned them. They are not confortable for me and are kinda itchy after long periods of wearing them. My favorite band so far is the Ocean.

I bought the AWU with a green alpine band size small. It fits perfect once it is on my wrist but it is a bit tight getting it over my hand to put it on. As others have mentioned I have slammed the hook into the watch a few times while taking the watch off but the watch doesn't seem to be any worse off. The alpine band is comfortable enough, but I do wish it were a bit more stretchy.

I was pretty sure I didn't want an Ocean band but changed my mind quickly after trying one on at the Apple Store. Picked up the Midnight ocean band and it will be my workout band and daily driver until my trail loop arrives, hopefully next month. The sport loop is by far the most comfortable band out there so I am hoping for that same comfort from the trail loop.

I am in the same dilemma going to Ocean band, but I have a lot of sport bands already and the green alpine is kind of unique

Apple online now shows a store pick up option, but seeing Dec 13. I think production is moving and we should see store inventory soon!

Yep, the best way to go about it I've always been able to get hard to get things by simply checking local Apple stores. Usually, most things can be had within a week from a local store, even when backordered one of two months online.

Where did I hear the rumor that Trail Loops would be in-stock/in-store for pickup on Friday?

I know I posted it here that one of the employees told me that. Since they have now made it an option to pick up in store, that means some stores will be getting stock soon. It may be very minimal but I am sure if you check all the stores in New York for example around 9am, some of the stores will have same day availability. If you order for the Dec 13 Date, it will come around then. If they get 10 in today, they don’t go in order of the in store ’reservation’ list that got the Dec 13 date. They will instead list those as available for in store pickup today, and those next 10 who order get theirs today.

The German stores updated the store for pickup of the Trail loop. Earliest pickup November 10th.

Looks like only the Watch + band Trail loop combos are available for pickup today at Apple Stores in Germany and the UK. Band only pickup still quoting November dates.

‘Hope you are right but I doubt it as orders still show a November date for delivery.

How do you find the alpine loop? Do you find it awkward to put on and take off?
I got the orange Alpine loop with my Ultra and really like it.
The colour was my initial concern, as I do not usually wear coloured watch straps, but actually I like it and have been happy wearing it for normal daily use.

I do not find it awkward to get on or off, I guess the first few times were tricky but it soon became as easy as any other strap. To be fair, I think many straps have their own idiosyncrasies and it is getting used them the whether its a buckle or butterfly clasp.
I have not had any problems such as the clasp hitting the screen that others have mentioned, but I can see how it could happen when taking watch off.

For my workouts I currently use a Nike sport loop which fits and looks perfectly.
I did also order a black/gray trail loop but this is not arriving until November, so cannot comment on that yet.
The reason I do not wear the Alpine loop for workouts is I want to keep it looking ok, and avoid getting it sweaty!

I guess i should say that the orange Alpine loop was my choice with the Ultra mainly at the time as other options had longer delivery times and I wanted to get my Ultra on a 23rd Sept delivery. Otherwise I would have ordered a trail loop as first choice or after that the Alpine loop in the green option.
But I'll call it serendipity that I actually like it.

I noticed some of the loop bands are available for pick up too? Hope that happens in the US today. I asked at my store if I can exchange just the band and they said no. Seems silly to exchange the entire watch for a different band but if I have to I guess. Or I can also get just a trail loop at some point. I have a Green Alpine. It’s the ok, but I can’t seem to dial in the perfect fit.

Online inventory and store inventory are completely separate. It's quite normal for stores to have inventory and online ship dates still a month+ out. I can't say exactly what the case is here, but, for example, I ordered a AWU + Trail Loop literally the second the store opened. My delivery date is 10/14 (moved up from 10/20), yet we see today that stores in UK and Germany have this model available for pickup TODAY.

‘Let us know if you find any Trail bands, I am seriously doubting it. I would love to get my hands on one. Until then I will keep my online order with Apple.
