Apple will fix the overheating issue with iOS 17 update

After the update tech website will post the benchmarks to see if that updated downclocked the CPU, to reduce heat. I am not much worried about it. My biggest concern is weak back glass compared to its predecessor. Is there a possibility that apple can fix it by manufacturing more sturdy back panel?

It's not weak. If you use the muscular force of both of your arms on a small concentrated surface area of glass you will break it.

But that kind of thing doesn't happen in the real world.

It only happens in YouTube videos.

Likewise nobody puts phones in blenders.

have a feeling it could happen often to women who put their phones in the back pocket and sit on them by accident :)

I don't know what you do to your phones, I personally try to take care of them as much as I can since they are expensive and fragile products, even if it is a phone with a plastic case. The YouTubers' reviews are fine as a curiosity, but I'm not going to go around bending mine or sit on it. Just as I don't leave my cell phone unattended on a table at a disco so it doesn't get stolen. It's a matter of being a little careful and taking care of what we have

It’s not weak. It’s glass. Glass can break. So one should exercise caution with glass. One of the main reasons I use a case with my iphones ever since they started using a glass back. If you don’t use a case, then you risk it breaking if you drop it. The iPhone 15 pro is no more in danger of cracking than the 14, 13, 12 or 11 iphone Pro. Yeah, I’ve seen that video of the guy forcibly bending the iPhone 15 pro until it cracked for clicks… but come on. Really? That is not a normal stress test of what an iPhone 15 Pro will endure. 😂 ANYONE can intentionally bend an iPhone until it cracks… but in the real world? Um… that ain’t happening. 🤨

Well in 17.1 beta 1 the multicore score in Geekbench went down from 7200 to 6844 so sounds like they are downclocking the processor a bit

There may make a secret warrantee on the back glass. Your 15 PM glass breaks easily and you complain and they just quietly fix it as: “A goodwill gesture”…

Glass is glass. I use a case and still I baby my phone because my money is very limited. I also always have apple care because I can’t afford to replace a $1200 phone that I could only buy with carrier financing in the first place.

I’ve only had iPhones since the first one in 2007 and I’ve only broken one screen. It fell out of my pocket and the screen hit the corner of a front step while I was bent over gardening. Fixed with apple care the next day and now I compulsively make sure my phone is at the bottom of my pocket before I bend over. I also don’t use both hands and all my might to try to bend my phone in half 🤷🏻‍♀️

The iPhone 15 pro max is a large investment, you just need to be careful with it. It’s not as weak or fragile as some say it is. If you use yours caseless, you’re more at risk for iPhone damage. Put a sturdy case on it and you’ll be fine. I’m sure some folks are against cases because they love the look and feel of the 15 pro series and possibly there are some who purposely go caseless to show others who boast “look, I have upgraded”. The new framework of the 15 pro max doesn’t bother me because I’m very careful with my iPhone no matter how fragile it is. I don’t put it in my front or back pocket, too much lint and debris. Tight jeans / trousers are usually the culprit to iPhone damage when the iPhone is in the front or back pocket. If the iPhone is “just a phone” to you, then yeah, it’s going to break.

I am one of those rare people who worship with my gadgets. Be it iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook or my DSLR. I use case and tempered glass protection, If I am placing my iPhone on a table I or any hard surface I put tissue paper under it to ensure that camera lens doesn't come on direct contact with the hard surface. I love to keep my iPhones in brand new condition all the time

Off course I won't try bending it to test its strength, but accident might happen. I imagine I mounted my iPhone on an Insta360 gimbal which uses magnet, and in the middle of shooting somehow the magnet malfunctions and my iPhone falls on the floor from 6 feet. Even with case at such height that glass might take pressure.

OK that glass is not weak. But according to the tests, it isn's as strong as its previous models. In fact regular iPhone 15 and plus that are aluminum survived the bend test, that Pro failed.

I would think men do that far more often. I don't see women often put anything in their back pockets.

That back glass isn't as strong as its previous models, so I was trying to figure out if this was a quality issue or flaw that apple might fix with the new releases of iPhone 15 Pro Max series?

Then you haven't seen many women. Men may put wallets in the back pockets but not really phones since men's front pockets are fairly spacey while women's pants have small or tight front pockets.

I'm only about 30% kidding when I say that there should be someone in charge every year of consolidating all the "complaining about absolutely nothing" posts into one big complaint echo chamber thread. For crying out loud these things have been coming out every year since 2007 can we please STOP with this?

If we did that, then there'd just be that one big thread and nothing else. ;)

I’m on 17.1 (15PM) and managed to achieve 7158 on multicore 🤷‍♂️ IMG_1953.jpeg
