I saw the benchmarks after iOS 17.0.3 update. The overheating issue is solved. There was a slight variation downwards, but nothing unexpected (we could easily find similar results from iPhones running iOS 17.0.2)

In some cases results were even better than in some tests conducted with versions earlier than iOS 17.0.3. So, The update most likely didn’t affect the performance of the iPhone 15 Pro Max. At least, not in most cases.

Hate to say this, but Marques Brownlee cracked the back glass on his review unit sitting ass on the concrete with the iPhone 15 falling a few inches from the pocket to the ground. 8min in:

Anyone know if his broken phone was a Pro or a Pro Max? (I can't tell from the photo.)
That’s a good question, but my first reaction was a Pro and not a Pro Max, but I could be wrong. Looks like he used his own phone for the video reviews instead of the cracked phone.

The fact that many criticized him for being too lenient on Apple on that back glass crack may not mean anything in the end, but I think he is just trying to be fair. I think he has many of the 15s to evaluate. But a crack from a few inches! And that poor woman who said her crack happened at a one foot drop - then was criticized like nobody’s business. 🤣

It's glass, guys. I hate that people are making such a big deal out of this. Glass shatters. I don't care what Apple says it's made of! Plus, MKBHD does mention this himself.
