I've been holding off until today to purchase a new ipad pro. I really want to use it for a long road trip this week. IF I buy one today with AppleCare and MBK, how easy is the return process if I return it to take advantage of the BTS promo when it rolls out?

what's interesting is the lack of consistent days of the week launch for thi spromotion which makes it hard to predict. it could be anyday!

that original person from reddit said sometime this week, but other say the end of the month so who knows. Looking at past dates one time they did it at the end of the month so who knows, Im just ready to buy so hopefully soon

I don’t know if they still do this but in the past they would honour the BTS promo if you were still in the return window. You may want to look into it.

I was in the same situation as you last week (trip away for a few days) but I chose to wait instead of buying something just to use for a week then return.

They usually start sometime in June, so that’s extremely unlikely.
You appear to have missed @sw1tcher's post, which was the very first reply in this thread. Here are the dates s/he posted. In the US, the promotions have started in July 50% of the time in the last decade.

2023 = June 5
2022 = June 24
2021 = June 17
2020 = June 15
2019 = July 9
2018 = July 12
2017 = July 12
2016 = June 2
2015 = July 23
2014 = July 1
2013 = July 2
2012 = June 11
2011 = June 16
2010 = May 25
2009 = May 27
2008 = June 3
2007 = June 5

There is no rhyme or reason to them launching this -- last year was on a Monday, the previous year was a Friday, dates all over the place. I just hope it's soon before I talk myself out of upgrading my iPad.

Just got out of the Apple Store. I asked an employee there regarding the back to school promotion and they said that they don’t know an exact start date but that it will start either this month or July. They said it will definitely start before August.

Almost tempted to go buy one now.

Micro center has 10% off if you use their card but I don’t need another credit card. $1268 give or take for tax I think for 16/512

The other thing to keep in mind is, based on my experience (iPhone and iPad), Apple won’t cross ship devices for a repair if you buy it anywhere other than Apple, even if you purchased AppleCare+.

I am too, but I’m going to hold off on getting an iPad until the promotion starts because I know I’ll regret not waiting if I go ahead and get it now only for the promotion to start soon after haha.

Oh really? That’s a good point, and if true is another good reason to buy directly from Apple.

I asked an apple employee online and they said they have no clue when it will start. I doubt it will be august it makes no sense, either at the end of this month or beginning of July

What does this mean exactly?
