I always laugh when Gurman writes these stories. Apple is a $3T company with over 160K employees. Employees will come and go. Unless it’s Tim Cook or one of his directs there’s nothing newsworthy about it.
yep, but Apple is doomed now ...

right? I worked in two different stores over 10 years and really really wish I knew what it was like to be so high up and be in those meetings, making those decisions etc.

must’ve been super interesting. when I left both stores I was like damn… can’t believe it.
It is not. At that level, you keep you mouth shut, your eyes down, and your opinions to yourself, unless they support the meetings managers company politics. Normally, you really have to sell your soul at that level. I'm sure there are some exceptions, but not many.

and they have contingency plans for this. I seem t recall a MR story about Tim Cook taking about contingency, they have that in place not only for him but all VPs and then some

Maybe it is maybe it isn't. It's possible the headphone jack was removed for another reason like fitting in a bigger battery. All I know is they got rid of it, it was a stupid move, and it should come back especially as wired headphones especially hifi ones are becoming popular again
For that one time a year when I want to plug in headphones, I just use the USB-C port. It’s not difficult. How many people here want to use the USB-C AND a headphone jack at the same time? I’m guessing nearly none.

I do because I have my phone plugged in while am at a desk at work or at home.

Plus my headphones don't have a USB-C cable they're the standard 3.5 mm aux cord, and I'd prefer not to have to resort to dongles. They're small and you lose them easily, yuck

Chat GPT can suggest the new iPhone features, which off course Apple will go against. Like a foldable phone. If u don’t like it, don’t buy it, there can be a “max” regular and “foldable” version.

What?!? Why is John Ternus leaving! I pegged him as the best replacement for Tim Cook. He's currently my fav presenter at the keynotes, and seems to be very passionate about his work at Apple. That's a real shame!

EDIT, I misread it. Ternus is not leaving. Phew!

This is good news.

iPhone 15 Pro was almost the same phone as the 14 Pro.

They need someone to speed up progress and innovation.

Speed up progress and innovation ... ?!?

Let's see... Apple moves too fast, we get too many bugs, and people demand that Apple slow down.
Apple takes a graceful, iterative approach, delivering quality product after quality product, and Apple is not innovating enough.

I don't get it. Why can't people just be happy with what we have? iPhones were and continue to be an inspiration for the rest of the industry from a purely joyful and reliable user experience. Sure, other phones may have flexible screens and removable SD cards, but adding those would not be classified as innovation anyway, so what sort of innovation are people expecting? A circular iPhone simple because it's not a rectangle?

Lots of departures from Apple’s industrial design team over the last few years. Demoting them to be under Operations where nickle-and-dimers are probably questioning every decision made probably isn’t helping. Be prepared for a lot of iterative and uninspired designs.
