I purchased the midnight blue leather sleeve and the pink sand smart cover. Unfortunately the blue dye started staining the pink sand Smart Cover so I ended up taking the sleeve back to apple tonight.
Really? That’s concerning. I hope it doesn’t stain the white bezel of the iPad Pro also, real deal breaker.

Ugh that's bad. Did you mention this to them when you returned it? That may either be a specific item defect or a big problem that they messed up on and need to know about.

Anyone order the Taupe or Saddle Brown sleeve for the 10.5 and received it or have received a quicker shipping date than currently quoted of the June 25

I ordered the Taupe leather sleeve and got 15th-22nd June shipping estimate but it’s still on processing so won’t make it to me for the start of the bracket (in the UK)

I purchased the midnight blue smart cover, smart keyboard, and black leather sleeve for my 10.5 iPad pro. For those wondering, the sleeve does accommodate either the smart cover or the smart keyboard attached to the iPad. It's a little more snug with the smart keyboard vs. the smart cover but either will work. I'm happy with the quality of the leather sleeve, and it's definitely up to Apple's standards, but I'm on the fence about keeping it. I had a cheap Inateck sleeve for my 9.7 pro (https://www.amazon.com/Inateck-Sleeve-Carrying-Protector-Display/dp/B00MVFGJNE) and tbh if there was a size available for the 10.5, I probably would have bought that instead of the Apple sleeve. Especially since it pretty much just stays in my briefcase all day.

What is the inside of the sleeve lined with? Anything? Or is it leather through and through?

The lining is leather and soft leather (same as the smart cover). The inside that faces the back of the iPad is soft-felt leather, whereas the top inside is leather. Here's a photo of the inside.

Works great, see my little video I made for everyone here. Just a quick little snippet of me using the sleeve and Smart Cover with the new 10.5"

You are the man! Thank you for this. Now my question is, is it really worth the $130 to have an all in one sleeve :( People that have purchased it, do you plan on keeping it?

I plan on keeping mine when I finally get it. I love the saddle brown/white iDevice combo the best, and it appears to be actual good leather. Looking forward to the sleeve getting some wear and a nice patina.

Yeah $129 is hella overpriced, but it is what it is. I'll eventually forget I paid that much and I'll just enjoy the sleeve for what it is lol.

Just out of interest, what did :apple: line the interior of the sleeve with....is it a microfiber material like their now non existent leather case????

If I buy one, I wonder if tucking the top flap where the pencil is would be possible. Have no plans to buy a pencil so having that extra material flip around seems silly.

So I went and bought one last night from the Apple Store. I will give them this: it is real, genuine, quality leather. I never felt leather so soft on an Apple-made accessory.

It houses the iPad just fine without falling out. If you hold it upside down then don’t be surprised that it slides out easily even with the pencil inside. No, you cannot fold the pencil holder into the case. It will spring back as well as being the width of the opening so it wouldn’t fit properly anyways.

It holds the iPad with ASK on with slight resistance while trying to get it in. It is a SNUG fit, but nothing crazy. My only concern is the ASK will cause my sleeve to stretch over time which would make it unusable without the cover on it. Considering returning either the keyboard or the sleeve. Tried to post photos, but ios 11 uses HEIC extension and it was not an accepted file to post.

Edit:

It is lined with leather at the top and microfiber the rest of the way down.

Agree. The craftsmanship and attention to detail is very nice. That's why I'm having such a difficult time trying to decide if I will return mine.

I tried it out in the store, and would have bought it if not for the price. It fits with the ASK nicely, and the pencil addition is nice. I held as if I would walk around from meeting to meeting or traveling and it seemed as if its very functional, ... just that price ... after buying the keyboard this was adding another $300 to the ipad price as it was ... just couldn’t justify it when there are so many sleeves out there for $10-30 that function the same, just don’t have the convenience of the pencil sleeve ...

seems awfully tight.
It definitely is tighter, but what I see is that the seams do not have any stretching to them and it isn't hard to put the iPad into the sleeve and take it out. I mean, sure, it is a bit 'harder' then doing it with a smart case or naked, but I really love what I am seeing with the sleeve AND the keyboard. I definitely wouldn't keep it if I thought it was going to ruin the experience, but overall I am enjoying it. Been in the sleeve for over an hour and looks fine, works great. I will keep updating as it all ages together.

I think the sleeve is a fine piece of workmanship, but $129 just seems like overkill to me. Maybe it’s because I’m so frugal, but even with its “all in one” good looks it just doesn’t sit well that I paid more for a sleeve than I did the pencil and almost as much as I did for the keyboard. I need more disposable income. Then I wouldn’t even think twice. Maybe. Lol

Lol yeah it definitely stung a bit in the ol' wallet. But at the same time it is very good quality leather, with a microfiber interior and the seams are well constructed and stitched. High quality leather products are typically higher priced so I can see why Apple priced it this way, just like those Apple Watch Leather bands costs $150!!!

Those bands are gorgeous! I had one but it was an awkward fit where one hole was too tight on the wrist and the next one up was too loose. Got a $15 one off Amazon and you can barely tell the difference lol
