That's what I'm planning to do. Have you any concerns that the ASK might stretch the sleeve too much?

Yes, actually I do. I see it as inevitable though. However, being that the sleeve is only for storage purposes, I don't mind attaching the keyboard back before stowing it away. Still struggling to stomach the price though. Lol

Thats and even worse rip off as that material is definitely not worth that price.
The sleeves I’ve had from Hard Graft in the past have always looked great to start with but worn really quickly; their branding is great but I’ve been disappointed in the quality. Specifically, the leather is soft and prone to tearing; and the felt pills and loses its density quickly.

So those who have bought this feel like it is somehow worth the price? Having a tough time justifying it, but really want something that is an iPad, ASK, Pencil all-in-one.

"Worth" is subjective, IMO. You can look at price only and then yes, the Apple sleeve won't seem worth it.

I try to take into account price, quality and usability, with the last two attributes being most important. If something is well thought out, works well and is made of quality materials, I'm more apt to overlook price. Case in point? I just spent damn near 1k on a tablet. A TABLET. Never thought it'd come to this lol.

No, I agree. I don't just look at price. Build quality and functionality is #1 truly

Midnight blue smart cover arrived today ahead of the iPad and its definitely a keeper! Must admit :apple: always deliver on quality; good to know they 've not wavered from previous leather spec.

Why they've to charge £129 for the sleeve is beyond me...

It's not a bad price, especially when compared to Designer leather accessories. For example; a Comme De Garçons leather pouch retails for $135.00 and it's tiny! The Apple sleeve uses more leather and it's actually stitched as opposed to bonded which is very unusual for an Apple leather product. I haven't seen the Apple sleeve in person, but it seems to be high quality.

I disagree with this. I happened to pre-order the one that has been shown not to fit from Amazon. I did a minor adjustment and it is now happy on the back of my 10.5 within my Apple sleeve with my Apple Keyboard. Everything fits nicely. I understand I will be getting a replacement that does fit sometime in the next month.

Observations: I really like the ASK and how I can type on it. The sleeve (blue) has a great feel to it with everything in it. The pencil has a real integration with the iPad, really nice. The clear smooth plastic back cover makes the unit more grippy on a smooth surface when used with the keyboard. It also has some tooling on the edges to make it easier to hold without slipping.
Hi would you mind linking the back cover you got on Amazon and if possible a picture of yours on the IPP? Thanks!

fingers x'ed for the sleeve ; I haven't actually seen it aside from the utube clips

Its only $30 less than the actual keyboard! HARD PASS!

The keyboard is something completely different, it makes the iPad heavy and bulky and isn't meant for simply storing the device like this. The sleeve is for the iPad being naked

Although everything from Apple is relatively expensive, accessories for all of the iPads Pro have taken it to a new level. I have the first generation 12.9-inch Pro and the silicone back cover plus smart keyboard combination. I don't even remember the exact price of the back cover, but the total cost for the combination was obviously around $250* or more!

EDIT (after being quoted below): *including sales tax

I felt your pain when I had the 12.9. $159 for the keyboard and $69 for the cover. Absolutely absurd. I think the sleeve is a wonderful accessory. Nice all-in-one combo with premium material and feel. That premium to me is only worth $79 to $89 tops. I returned my sleeve and ASK for my 10.5. Using a clear TPU case that costed all of $10 and does the job I need for now.

Now that we have a "second gen" of iPad Pros available, it is very apparent Apple will continue this strategy of very $$$ expensive accessories for the Pro products. Normally I prefer to only buy the Apple-branded cases, etc., but with the Pro average-selling-price increasing, they are starting to price me out of the market for their accessories. Spending $700-$1000 for the hardware, plus another $200 for cases/sleeves is getting ridiculous.

Any others get their sleeve and plan on keeping it? I still think the price was highway robbery, but I’m now starting to think I’ll keep my ASK, the sleeve, and rock the back of the iPad “nekkit”. I do want the midnight blue sleeve instead of the black one I have if I keep it though.

Definitely keeping mine. Absolutely great leather quality. Looks classy and high end. For me, it is worth the money. You're paying for the quality leather.

Ugh I agree. I'm sitting here thinking 'I don't think my past smart covers have been $50....'. Were they still $40 back in the iPad-3(retina) days?

It's expensive, but I love mine. I wish they made a taupe one for 12.9 but they don't, so I'm using black. It is a little tight with the ASK attached, and it's annoying because it's uneven based on the fact the bulge from the keyboard portion is only on one side. However, the built in pencil holder is amazing. And the look, fee, fit and finish is superb honestly. Once you get over the price, everything else about it is great.

Received my Taupe leather sleeve today from Apple. It is beautiful.

Honestly, I get what people are saying about the price but if you are looking for a high quality sleeve for your iPad Pro then I can’t see you getting a better one that this. It’s worth the money if you're willing to spend that much.

It feels amazing to hold. My naked iPad fits comfortably in it (I was worried about it being too loose). And the pencil holder has a satisfying snap when you push the pencil in. All in all it’s an amazing product, definitely meets Apple’s high standards.

Which iPad Pro did you get? Any chance of a pic of the sleeve?
