Not a developer. Both links open d a bu report page but neither would accept my Apple ID and then my wife had her phone not recognize her Apple ID password after updating to iOS 9.01 a few mintes ago.

No matter what Apple does, people will never be happy and its really starting to get obnoxious. Apple delays the release to fix bugs = People angry Apple isn't updating enough. Apple releases update that has some bugs = People angry that stuff doesn't work properly. No one will ever be happy.

Apple may have the best engineers and all the money in the world, but do you know how complex 1.8GB of code is. It is impossible to fix every single bug and makes sure everything is 100% perfect. It will never happen. People just need to relax. And just because you are having an issue, does not mean the majority of people are.

Dude, I am talking about sudden loss of major functions that they used to convince us to buy this stuff tha simply is not working now! I'm typically a supporter and defender but this is nuts. Apple marketed about their record of "stuff working" while panning MickeySoft but this release is so far proving terrible. If somebody doesn't complain why would they fix it?

We clearly get all that.

However, we are displeased because Apple claims iOS 9 has improved performance but it really hasn't. Ironically, it's the exact opposite.

That's what really angers me. I don't expect releases to be bug-free or lag-free. Nothing is perfect in this world. But myself, and others, abhor this false claim Apple has made.

Major functions as in what. Not a single 'major' function of my iPhone or iPad is broken. Battery life is fantastic, I have zero lag on either of my devices. I literally do not have a single issue that has popped up thus far.

Performance may not have increased for me, but it has not decreased. My iPhone is flawless, just as it was on 8.4. Unsure about 8.4.1 because I was on 9.0 Public Beta. And my phone is working flawless after being updated from a Beta to GM to final. I haven't even had the need to restore it. Maybe I am the exception, but I highly doubt that, because there generally have been more positives than negatives. We just see more negatives on the forums because thats were everyone goes to complain. You don't see people starting threads of how great everything is even if that is their personal experience.

Huh. Your claim is interesting. I haven't seen many people say that 9.0 is just as fast as 8.4.1. But I've seen hundreds say the exact opposite.

Which proves my point. People never ever make threads complimenting an upgrade. It's always negative and complaints. The outcry of complaints will always be louder because people that are upset want the world to know. People that are happy don't care and don't look to others for attention.

Are you a developer? If not, that's why it wouldn't let you log in. The other link I provided could be used for non developers.

Edit: ****, wrong link again

That one works but does not require an Apple ID.

Correction, people want things they paid for to work as advertised. If the thing they paid for does not work as advertised they are fully within their rights to complain.

You may be right, but most of the complaints are legitimate with good intentions. The complaints don't change the reality that iOS 9 is a laggy release with several issues. It's important to discuss imperfections more to improve software. Perhaps not in forums as much, but in bug reports.

As in "Hey Siri send a text on my Watch. Worked yesterday. Does not work today. Used it a lot. Watch and iOS are too tightly combined to dismiss it.

Safari. Spent 10 minutes completing a web forum on my phone. Then ot would not display the whole page and I could not click the "submit" button because half the page was missing. No arttempt to re-zoom, slide the page or anything else would work.

My wife has been trying to update her Watch since last night at 11 PM. FINALLY just got it to work in the last hour or so. 24 hours to update a Watch? No problem there is there. Seen plenty of complaints about the Watch update process and we have experienced the exact same problems. That sounds pretty darned buggy to me.

Last time I checked you didn't pay for iOS9. So nice try. No one made you upgrade and no one made you pay for it.

Also, Hey Siri on your watch has nothing to do with iOS 9.

But Apple WILL discontinue support for older versions eventually won't they?

I've never had an issue with any previous Apple update for any device before now. However now they have caused me a lot of problems. I am extremely disappointed with them for the first time ever.

I'm one of the poor saps who ordered a Space Gray watch moments after presale wnt live. I defended Apple all throughout. This time I am angry. Is there a rule on the forums that we are not allowed to complain in a thread that was started to make a complaint about the disappointment? If the best you have is comments like "try being an Apple Engineer" it's really not very helpful to people who are having real functionality issues.

That's what I did. :)
Problem solved. No need for all this commotion.

Um do we look like the Apple Genius Bar or AppleCare?

It does when Siri says she can't find a person in my contacts who is in my phone and who I have sent "Hey Siri" texts through my watch 100's of times before.

Maybe you missed this but the Apple Watch App is a built in component of iOS. It controls all the interaction between the two. The two are integrated pretty tightly. There was even an iOS update required to add AW app.

Maybe you need to update your Apple Watch or factory reset it.

Tim is the CEO, yes Tim is the CEO and as the CEO, he should never have allowed iOS 9 to be released in such a state. In fact, he should have made sure that all devs working on iOS 9 worked overtime in order to get iOS 9 to the level in which he promised at WWDC. As the CEO, he is responsible, directly or indirectly.

Yes, I will blame Tim Cook because he is the CEO and he failed to deliver what he promised.

The difference between Steve and Tim? Well, Apple was Steves company. He loved his company. He had a passion for his company. He would never have allowed iOS 9 to be released like this. Nor iOS 7 or 8. Steve would have made the devs work overtime if need be to ensure iOS was ready for public release.

Tim is a schmuck who doesn't know what he's doing as far as I'm concerned. This is the 3rd iOS release under Tim's leadership that has not lived up to the expectations and quality that Apple was known for under Steve.

Everyone thinks Tim is such a fantastic CEO, he's really not. Just a bad imitation of Steve Jobs.

I only somewhat agree. I don't think iOS9 is "in such a state" because it's working near perfectly for me. So I don't think it's fair to say that he shouldn't have allowed it, because while there are some bugs to be worked out, it's no where near as bad as some people are making it out to be.

At least, not on my device. Or Tim's. ;)

Ive updated 2 iPads and 2 iPhones to iOS 9 and bought an iPad Mini 4 that came with 9.
Battery life after indexing is great, and the Mini 4 is a beast-buttery smooth and fast. I could have slowed it down with a restore, but decided to keep it clean.
What is with threads like this? So ill get flamed for posting, but really folks, if you restore, you might be restoring the problems you had. If it doesnt work as advertised, set up as new and enjoy the new features.
My wife has had problems with her 6, today she started to talk about her phone and I interrupted to say sonething negative, but she said no, my phone is working great now, the upgrade was really nice.
Its been positive for me and mine.
