the new-designed Genius Bar (area) looks beautiful. i really miss the days to see the nice & experienced Genius standing behind the Bar and helping the customers to solve the problems and save their "sick" devices.

Not enough shag carpet, large flower prints, or orange and green accents to be from the 70s. Also, no paneling to be seen anywhere.
can confirm as someone who grew up with the most 70s kitchen ever, it was truly a gaudy sight and this is not it 🤣

this is a beautiful store, imo. Apple continues to impress me on their retail front, showing a dedication to simple design and clear product placement (i.e. not being a scrambled mess) where other retailers fail. I've heard many a horror story on here about Apple Store customer service, but, the one I go to has always been good to me. (Bendgate managed to happen on my non-Plus 6, and I'm not even the type of person to put my phone in the back of my pocket…they replaced it for free!)

on that note, this is bringing me back to when my local Apple Store opened. right amidst the iPhone craze too! it was so awesome to go in when they first opened, being the excitable little :apple: nerd I was (not much has changed) and being able to hold almost every single product they made in-person. nostalgia is fun 💜

The wood is beautiful. It actually looks less 1970s (as one person suggested) and feels a bit more Mid-Century Modern. Either way, I like how it adds some warmth. Apple had a pretty cold and sterile aesthetic prior to this. I know our local store feels that way. This could be the sign of a move in a better direction.

The wood is a lovely change.

The dividers and overall look (e.g. Genius Bar and Pickup section – see official photos here) reminds me of how Apple's iBooks app used to look on the original iPad.
