vlc - dark mode and external storage

Note: for external storage, the user must share the video from the files app.

I don't see a way to edit the first post, so I'll add these apps:

1Password (supports Dark Mode and Files enhancements)
dJay (supports external storage)
Fantastical (supports Dark Mode)

Gmail just edited their app. While it does not bring dark mode, the launch screen is now dark. Hopefully that means it’s in the works

Interesting. When I created the thread, I made it a wiki post, and other forum members have edited it. Somehow I think the wiki post status got lost during the forum upgrade process.

EDIT: It looks like the pinned threads that were wiki posts also aren’t wiki posts anymore.

I saw a note from @arn that this was an issue. Hopefully he can assist here as well.

I'm gonna ask the dumb question I'm sure a bunch of us have...and maybe it isn't so dumb as some apps already have it as an option in their settings:

Will I have to turn on a "dark mode" option in every single app or will the app automatically follow my iPhone settings for "dark mode?"

I'm ASSUMING that the ability to even have dark mode means I shouldn't have to do that...the app, if updated to work with iOS13 and if the developer enables it, should simply switch to their version of dark mode as my phone is scheduled to do.

I only ask since it IS an option in some apps (Twitter for example).

Most apps should follow the OS theme, but some like Wikipedia I had to select to follow the OS theme.

That's what I was afraid of...so I need to turn on night mode and check each app? I would hope the mjority would make it an option since it seems to be such a big deal in this update and that it would be the rare one that either would have to switched in their settings or not have at all.

One of the apps that I updated today required me to choose whether or not I wanted dark mode, but I can't remember which one. One of the options was automatic so you can leave it on dark mode and have system switched to light mode. Pretty sure I will be sticking with dark mode.

I added Tripit because they "technically" added a dark mode. Unfortunately it is the bluest dark mode I've seen. They really need to step it up

I see United Airlines as an app that supports dark mode but I can't find the setting or it doesn't support dark mode?

Tapatalk now supports split screen functionality. This should be added to the first post, moving it from “Updated with no known new features”

Tweetbot updated today. Lots of complaints on Twitter because they strictly adhere to the system light/dark setting. So no option to have a dark mode in the app anymore if you aren’t using the systemwide dark mode.

Yep that annoys the heck out of me. Already reached out to them to give us this option. Same goes for Slack. They also follow the systemwide dark mode..
