AppTapp 3.0 Beta

Version 3.0b3 of AppTapp Installer has been released by Nullriver and appears under the AppTapp updates on your iPhone. The welcome screen reads:
Welcome to AppTapp Installer 3!

This version of Installer has been greatly improved on a number of fronts, including the user interface and packaging back-end.

This release uses a different core repository and firmware 1.1.1 is recommended.
The beta release lists a number of known issues, and you will still have to jailbreak your 1.1.1 iPhone prior to installation of AppTapp.

AppTapp is a very popular application installer for the iPhone, allowing you to download, install and update 3rd party applications on your iPhone over EDGE or Wifi.

I understand the excitement. I hacked away the first two months. Now I am a recovering hacker.
As a sober user reading the worries and concerns of hackers still in denial I get the feeling that we have all turned the durable iPhone into Lalique crystal.

Someone has pointed out that the Touch Calendar fix is missing from this update. I have not gone beyond iPhone Apps, so I have no idea if it is in Community Sources or not. Just beware on this one.

I want to take the plunge and install third party apps on my iPhone, but I think an iPhone software update will be required to enable notes syncing with Leopard, so I'm going to have to wait until third party apps are working on that version.

this is my major concern as well and part why i think the release of Leopard has been moved up a month..

Can I upgrade to 1.1.1?

Hi I have an unlocked iPhone running firmware 1.0.2. I've just updated App Tapp to the 3.0 beta - can I now update iTunes then update my phone to 1.1.1 firmware? Is that all I have to do or is there more to it? Appreciate any assistance! Thanks :D

Successfully updated!

No, I don't think you can do it like that. If you install 1.1.1 now, it's going to get rid of all those applications. What you need to do is update to 1.1.1, then jailbreak it, then install AppTap "manually" to get it to work.

Well AppTap worked, but there's still weird problems after that. The installer says it has an update that can't install (gives and error), then installing Springboard causes all types of issues with the dock.... which includes removing the installer program from the dock. Restoring now. Beware unless you really know what you're doing!

Hey, I just used iJailbreak to hack my ipod touch. I then proceeded to update my Installer.app. All of this went perfectly, but in Installer.app, when i go to the tweak section, there is no tweak for the ipod touch calendar application. The tweak made it so you could add events to the ipod touch calendar. According to other forums the tweak was present in the last version of installer.app.
Is there anyway to downgrade to the previous version of Installer.app? Or do i have to restore my ipod and go through the whole jailbreak process and not update installer.app?

...when i go to the tweak section, there is no tweak for the ipod touch calendar application.

You could always do it yourself (easier than a restore etc). The tweak is simply to add an extra entry into a .plist file (sorry, don't know the exact details but I'm sure you can search for them).

How to install App Tapp on 1.1.1

I updated to the new version of app tapp while running 1.0.2 and noticed it said best in 1.1.1. So I did the update and my phone is jailbroken. But all 3rd party apps and app tapp is gone. How do I install the new version? I can't seem to find a download anywhere. Here's what I'm working with unlocked running on t-mobile 1.1.1 with a PPC.
I need my apps!!! I thought it would work due to the intro page in App Tapp once I updated to 3.0. Please help!!!!

I didn't know it was safe to upgrade to 1.1.1 when u have a unlocked version. What method did u use ! ?

Program requires me to restart the phone to close out of (1.0.2 firmware).

Avoid this if you aren't using 1.1.1.

Seems to be working now, but I had some issues with it at first.
