For me it would be different use cases for the buds vs the in-ears. In-ears for travel/commute because of added security in your ears and better ANC. Buds for work environment because they are just much more comfortable to wear for multiple hours.I don’t understand why anybody would get the $179 ANC model. You can pay $20 more and get the pros off Amazon, unless you can’t use them due to discomfort, etc
I will also do the sameI'll wait for the reviews, if they actually made semi-decent ANC in an earbud I'll 100% will take those.
I wouldn’t use the Pros if you paid me. I don’t like the pressurized feel of the ear seal. Don’t like the feel of the rubber tips in my ears. They cause me extreme discomfort after several hours of use unlike the AirPods 2 which I’ve been using for several years and can wear all day at work. The AirPods 3 are uncomfortable as well so I hope the AirPods 4’s shape doesn’t resemble that of the 3’sI don’t understand why anybody would get the $179 ANC model. I wonder when we will see a review comparing the shape of the new AirPods 4 to the 3’s. Also, I wonder if there is ANY physical difference between the anc and non-anc version of the AirPods 4’s
Great video thank you. It seems like the ANC and the Non-ANC versions of the AP4’s are identical in physical form. Is that correct? He didn’t mention any difference in the video between the two version. Does that mean that the ANC version doesn’t have any additional internal component for anc to work and is it purely software that’s doing the ANC?
In this video you can see a small comparison with the airpods 3
so like we suspect, the ANC is pretty decent for open ear buds. not as great with the silicone tips like the Pro 2.

NoThe hands on showed the ANC version being controlled with an iPhone. I have an iPad and Samsung phone, so would I even be able to control the ANC?
It seems like both models have the same battery and the impact of ANC when enabled is about a 1 hour difference
On the iPad, yes. On the Samsung phone, probably not.The hands on showed the ANC version being controlled with an iPhone. I have an iPad and Samsung phone, so would I even be able to control the ANC?
Sorry to hear about the fire. But you are just joking about the AirTags, right? Because they need nearby iPhones to work -- so if everyone is evacuating because of fire, they may not work so reliably, in cases where they become isolated without other iPhones nearby.Wanted to go to the Apple Store to look at the new Apple Watch (buying), as well as getting the new ANC Airpods, but the fires out here closed the store! Plus, I need more AirTags ... so I don't lose people in the smoke!
