It also causes the lock screen to quickly flash on screen when locking the phone. (Screen goes black, lock screen flashes on for a quick second and then goes off)

It's also funny that some rip on bugs big or small ALL the time to no end (demand immediate fixes) but want this bug to never go away. A little hypocritical.
it's a feature :D you know the time just before screen turn off
[doublepost=1457617843][/doublepost]H*** yes.

This seems to me proof that the code deliberately slows the experience down in iOS. I can minimize an app (instantly) and then instantly tap another app for it to open. None of this b******* "wait for the animation to finish before taps are allowed to open an app"

And I hope to the  gods that they don't ever fix this glitch. As little time as it saves, it really helps me have a better iOS experience when iOS matches my work speed (married+kid+grad school+job=very busy)

This bug discovered by me on iOS 9.1 and i reported it via feedback and Apple didnt care. i reported it again on iOS 9.2 beta's. Apple didnt care again. i reported it again iOS 9.2.1 beta's. Apple didnt care again. And i reported it again iOS 9.3 beta1.1 - beta3 - beta4 and here we are in beta6 and Apple didnt care again. So calm down. Nobody cares this bug on Apple.
Yeah Apple dont care if their products work or not as long as folks buy them. Thats their ONLY goal. I bet in their meetings they discuss "We dont really care if anything works as long as folks still buy them. Now lets move on and discuss more important things like what can we make the new devices look like. We dont need to discuss whether they work or not because we dont really care"

Back on topic:
The unlock (touchID) is instantaneous as well. Like lighting fast. If you want to see the lock screen you have to press the power switch or use a finger not registered as touch ID. But pretty cool that you can press the home button with a registered finger and be at home screen in a blink. I think they should add an animations on/off switch or a slider to adjust the amount of delay for animations (or both ideally) just like night shift. Then everyone could have it their way just like Burger King!

I like the animations as opposed to this instant access but wish they were faster so best of both worlds.

No And not because I like the animations.

General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion does a good enough job of removing the excess (at least for me) animations. And that does not require some bug/hack to work.
I wish it was like in iOS 7.0 - Remove the parallax of the icons and alerts but keep the opening/closing animations.

I did it just to try it out thinking it would be something I like. Almost felt like whiplash every time I opened and closed an app so I rebooted. Cool for those who dig it, but it was almost giving me a headache.

It's kind of funny that I have patience for the animations and they don't bother me but I have no patience for screwing around with the glitch. There are others here who have no patience for the animations but have the patience for setting up the glitch.

I spent about 15 minutes trying to get it to happen but it didn't. This is on an iPhone 6 running iOS 9.3 beta 6.

If it's that much trouble to get it to work it's not worthwhile IMO.

this is amazing, i always hated those fade out animations they made me dizzy but i hated losing other things with reduced motion on. thanks for sharing. reminds me of No Slow Animation from Cydia.

edit: if u cant get it to work, try a double tap instead of a single tap. worked for me on beta 6

It takes like 3 mins or less to do the glitch. Do exactly what the video does and it'll work instantly.

I couldn't get it to work on an iPad 2. Maybe it is because it takes 2 seconds to activate Spotlight, so it is impossible to know when to activate the glitch.

I was but it stopped working overnight without a reboot on my 6 Plus.
Same here. I'm guessing some sort of a respring happened overnight for some reason, not a full reboot but enough to reset something like this.

There are a few visual glitches it introduces with blurs and stuff, so I cancelled it out. But I appreciate the speed.
Because of the above (the respring) and because of some visual glitches that come with this, despite the speediness of it all, I went back to just using reduce motion for the moment.

Using it. Loving it. One of the first apps I install on my jail broken devices is speed intensifier. Speeds up all animations system wide. This bug is very welcome even if it is confined to the home screen animations only.

I can't seem to get it to work. I've watched the video several times but I'm not getting the timing right or something on my iPhone 6 running 9.3 beta 6.

This right here. And of course. the process that makes jailbreaking even possible is the exploit of a bug, so there's that, too.

Don't expect this bug to be around too long. It's getting quite a bit of "media" coverage now. 9to5mac, many tech sites and YouTube channels. Plus feedback being sent.

Yeah. It's not that great anyway. I used it for a while and sure it added some speed, but it just felt crippled and broken. I kinda like the animations.

Geez this is incredible! Now my 6s+ feels as fast as my Android phone. It's easy to permanently turn off animations in Android. I wish there was a way to make it stick past a reboot, but this will do. THANK YOU!!!

I kind of like it. I'm not sure I will re-enable it after inevitable reboot, but it's okay at the moment. It goes to show how useful animation is for orientation, OTOH. If stuff just pops open, it's a little bit disorienting.
