hahah some of the post here really brings out the fanboism.

Anyhow, I like apple product and no doubt about that because of their product quality and "GREAT" customer service. However, this ASUS laptop seems to be a good competetion for AIR. I will wait for reviews before I decide to get it instead of the next macbook air. Now I have two choices to choose from instead of one. Consumer wins. I like to give credit when credit is due and in this case by the look of it, ASUS seems to be in the right direction.

I think it is unfair to say that any ultraportable laptop is a copy of the MBA. Honestly, this does not look too close to the MBA. It's just very thin, along with the unibody design. MBA is still much more seamless.

So what your saying is apple should call a red flag on Asus for producing this? If everyone acted like that, technology would likely move at a much slower rate. That what you want?

Good Competition can only be a positive thing. If this product causes a loss of MBA sales, what do you think apple will do? Maybe make the MBA even better? Isn't that what we want?

Clearly there are ways and ways of looking at these things. When I first saw the vid I was stunned at how close this thing is in design to the Air. But my reaction was not one of "Apple should sue" or whatever - more like "wow it is amazing how good they are at copying these days - that takes talent!".

It's not like building an ultrathin like this is an easy proposition; I think Apple should be pleased that they are leading the way, and equally they should be working hard to stay ahead, or in this case try to get back there.

This, coupled with the PadFone videos, shows some serious understanding on Asus's part that Apple is doing things the right way - if it wasn't quite so blatant I think it would do wonders for them.
