Well, Woke up expecting to see some update from ATT. But, it still says “In Progress”. I’m starting to doubt it’ll come Friday.

Here’s to hoping!

Anyone have an update?

I know the feeling, any update would be appreciated from them at this point.

Both my watches still say "in progress". One has a delivery date of 9/21 and the other has 9/28-10/5. Both of them still in progress gives me a slim chance of hope that the 9/28 gets bumped to 9/21.

On another note, on other AT&T preorders, nothing moved until the day before or the day of delivery. A friend of mine both preordered iPhone X last year, me with AT&T and her with Verizon. She received shipping info and updates all throughout the week and I received nothing until the day before delivery late in the day. In the end, I ended up getting my phone delivered first. Just to give you guys an idea of previous AT&T preorder experience.

Did you submit both watches on yet same preorder, or did you submit them separately?

Ordered a Cellular 44mm space grey alu and matching 64gb iPhone XS at 0310 EST when I placed my order it shows Oct 1-8th for Watch(has phone number assigned) and Sept 21st for phone. As of this morning phone shows Preparing to ship and watch shows In Progress. Apple store showed Sept 21st delivery for apple watch after I placed my AT&T order, if it doesn't show up on Launch day I am going to be annoyed.

My situation is nearly identical to yours, minus the iPhone purchase. It took several attempts for me to submit my preorder for the watch, despite gaining access to the site before 3 am EST.

My watch also still says in progress. While it would be nice to get it sooner I doubt it will come by Friday. Still kind of annoyed that I ordered it as soon a possible when the site went live and still got an October delivery date.

You sound like you had a similar experience to mine and schwartzski.

Ordered a 40mm silver aluminum with white sport band at 3:00:20 ET with a 9/21-9/28 delivery time and like everyone else I’ve had no movement. The pending tax charge was removed from my card earlier today, tho.

I can confirm that my pending tax charge on my card has been removed as well.

Woke up at 3:04 AM EST. Apple Store did not let me in until about 3:10. Ordered 44mm SBSS, got 9/28-10/02 delivery date. Went through AT&T right after, ordered same model and got 9/21 delivery date. My order appeared on my account for a day or so, now I can't view it. Although when I click on the View Order link in the email it still says In Progress and shows the same delivery date.

It is a bit annoying how AT&T shows less information regarding the status of order. I got my iPhone X through AT&T last year as well but I don't remember how that went.

NOTE: It is interesting how you can't order SS version through AT&T anymore... guess we all took up their initial supply. Haha

I’m in the same boat, where I can see a status but can’t find the order on my account. Just got off the phone with att and they assured me that the orders have gone through. They’re just waiting to get the inventory checked in before they can start provisioning and we might be able to start seeing updates by tonight through tomorrow but not to get too stressed if we don’t see any updates till Friday as their systems may not update before we get delivery. I’m encouraged.

It’s weird how they update their statuses the day before or the day of the launch of a product.
It’s not like the rest of the carriers. But, as long as we get our products by our scheduled delivery date or at least some update on our products then that’s very much reassuring.

Yup, AT&T definitely had issues that night. Guess we will wait and see what happens. I won’t even bother trying to get any info from them. Done that in the past, they don’t really seem to know what’s going on. Just have to wait and see if anything updates.

I preordered through ATT Premier yesterday with a 9/21 delivery. They held the funds for the tax on my card. This morning, I get an email saying card was declined and I had to call in to finish the order. Rep claims they had an issue processing payment even though the funds were held when I placed the order. So I ended up giving them a new card and the order went through. My order status now says "preparing to ship" but now has an estimated shipping date of 9/26 - 10/3. He claims the watch from my preorder will be delivered as promised on Friday but I'm not too optimistic now.

Well done AT&T. Well done.

At least my XS Max is still arriving Friday. I can wait a week or two on the watch but still sucks that their crappy system might have bumped my preorder out further.

Just for peace of mind they should update like apple and/or other carriers do because to my understanding they all get shipped together from China and they split them up when they get stateside. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that but that's how I understand it.

The way I understand it is that ATT gets a bulk shipment that is sent to their warehouse/logistics hub then they are sorted/provisioned and sent out from there. The reason apple has such great tracking is that when you buy directly from them, the shipment is YOUR watch or YOUR phone from the time it leaves China.

Ouch! I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I wonder why the delivery timeframe was affected, despite them accepting your new form of payment?

To all those that are worried that their order status still shows "In Progress", I wouldn't worry about it. While I have never pre-ordered the Apple Watch before, I have had iPhone pre-orders in the past that did not show any changes to the status page until after the phone was actually delivered.

Separate orders. 44mm Space Gray aluminum sport loop at 2:00 am cst which was ordered together with Xs Max. Phone changed to preparing to ship a couple days ago. Taxes for both fell off my account today. Will probably be deducted again tomorrow or day of delivery as usually is the case.

2nd order was 40mm gold aluminum sport band at 2:16 am cst. Charge for this one hasn’t fallen off.

After the day it’s delivered? That is crazy...

Just got off a chat with AT&T about something unrelated and asked at the end about the timing for watch shipments. They let me know that the status should be updated once the watches are received from Apple on Friday and the dates would become more accurate at that time. Hope this help anyone if you don't already have this info.

Yeah this is another example of a customer service rep just guessing. They will likely receive the watch shipments today or early morning tomorrow. There are too many orders for them to not meet the release delivery on all of them. If you have a deliver date of 9/21, you will likely get your watch/phone Friday.

In this case the CSR is correct. There can be no further updates until the bulk shipments arrive at the Distribution Center. It is the same discussion every year. Don't expect any update until tomorrow afternoon or early evening. And 99 % of the pre-orders with a 9/21 date will be delivered on Friday.

Note: The AT&T system shows the devices as back ordered until the actual devices are scanned in to the AT&T system.

I agree on that. However, ATT will not be receiving their shipments on Friday. They should be receiving them any time now, if they have not already done so. I imagine it takes quite a bit of time to sort all the models and package them up for shipping.

I went through this same situation on my son’s Apple Watch 3 when we pre-ordered. Debit card was charged, charge fell off, was charged the day before it was set scheduled to be delivered. We received the watch on the following day. While the hype wasn’t nearly as big as the Watch 4, I doubt AT&T will change the way they ship their devices. Unfortunately, my ship window on my 44mm Gold Stainless will arrive around Thanksgiving.

I noticed a few people other threads mentioning that their iPhones from combined preorders have started to ship, but their watches don't have any movement (with the same delivery date). Do carriers normally receive them later?
