I just checked, my hotspot is inop as well. I am wondering if they are changing things around on the plan to not include hotspots, or if it was just an error.

Can you tell what kind of international roaming options does this plan have? E.g. $10/day unlimited data? Thanks.

Canada/Mexico treated the same as the US. Not sure on the other options.

Can others call AT&T to see what is going on? I think they are targeting my account to try to get me out of my grandfathered UDP (that was mentioned during my original call) but maybe it's something else.

More bad news, I think. Have you checked to see if streamsaver is on? My iPad is now not showing up as an option to change on my iPad data plan.

Just a theory, but maybe they changed the plan to the unlimited choice features, which include no hotspot and throttled data?

i mentioned this on the other thread, but i checked my lte speeds and the iPad appears to be throttled to unlimited choice speeds also.

OK, just got off chat with AT&T. I noted that my account for my iPad showed a plan change but the plan description showed the same description as before. The rep at first was trying to tell me that you do not get hotspot on an unlimited iPad data plan. After we went back and forth he stated that he saw a glitch in the system and "corrected it". He would not share any more information we me. Once I rebooted my iPad the hotspot feature returned. As far as speeds, It is testing a bit faster but I need to go somewhere else where I have a better signal to confirm that full speeds have returned. Sorry I was unable to get more explanation as to what he did.

I was told something else. Basically, every once in a while the computer changes it to the unlimited choice features, as this plan is actually not suppose to be available.

I gave up and switched my tablet back to using my pool of data, I can live within the 20gb limit. Unfortunately, the retentions agent could not reinstate my canada roaming bonus on the iPad.

OK, I was able to go back and test and my speeds are back to what I would normally see. (I rebooted twice before I saw the speeds go back to normal). Again sorry that I could not get more details about the rep did, I assume he might have refreshed my plan codes on this line but don't know for sure. I am curious if anyone else had a plan change noted on their iPad line around the time they lost the hotspot feature.

To be fair, someone I was told my someone who gave me the code for this plan originally the following:

Quote:

I had the same issue. It is intentional because they said when system audits that there is no single phone line of Unlimited Plus, it changes automatically to Choice plan as single line iPad line on Unlimited Plus requires that. So I call them whenever it changes to unlimited choice. It used to happen before then too when I gave you the SOC. I reached out to office of president. Then it stayed for 2-3 months until last week. I called customer service and they changed the plan back.

End Quote:

Of course, I have no idea how accurate this claim is, but I didn't want to deal with this every few months after a sweep. I am also continuing to look into the options of either putting the iPad on the prepaid $30 plan, or take all my service over to another provider. (With my FAN discount and need for nationwide service it is challenging to find a better plan for 2 lines + iPad.)

I called customer service who transferred me to the department that works with iPads. She looked over my account and said my service changed on Feb 6th. She didn’t know why but was able to change it back. I rebooted the iPad and my hotspot was back but my speed was slow (3/3). I rebooted it again and the speeds were back to normal too.

Picked up new iPad Pro’s for my wife and myself on AT&T Next. The sales guy offered us a $20 a month unlimited standalone data plan on our same 6 gig iPhone account without adjusting the iPhone 6 gig plan. He said that they just started offering this last week. It made sense for us because we have enough lines making the unlimited for all a bad option. Not sure if anyone knew about this or even cares, but wanted to pass it along.
Jump On It, can you imagine if it allows Tethering or Allows you to Turn your Unlimted LTE Data IPad Plan to a WiFi Hotspot. Jump on It.
This is one of those mistakes that At&t will realize and try to phase out.

danger is that they may make fixes before then. There were reports that, if you don't have a qualified unlimited plus account tied to the account, you can lose the hotspot capability on the iPad.

[doublepost=1519836691][/doublepost]I am an account executive for this company. This plan is only available to CRU customers (under a business account / tax ID) you can see in the original posters screen shot that he has a CRU FAN. Personal accounts are eligible for an IRU FAN. But I assure you all you can not get this plan unless you are under a business.

can we put the sim in a hotspot such as unite explore
You can try but it will not work. Different APN settings and feature/SOC codes. Plans just changed on 03/01 and we no longer offer $20 unlimited hotspot on a business or consumer unlimited plus plan as a member of the group. For business customers now the best option is 10 GB for $20 for a hotspot

This happened to my iPad line multiple times. I had to call in to ask them to add the old plan back in order to remove the speed limit and enable the hotspot feature.

I don't use that much data every month. This is only for convenience. However I don't know how many time I will try to get it fixed until I give it up. This has never happened with other carrier.

Last time I really wanted to cancel it to avoid all the hassles, but they still managed to fix it to keep me around.

I just noticed my hot spot disappeared again. Went to use it so my kids could connect their iPads then nothing. I'm thinking it might have disappeared after I rebooted my computer for the last software update. Time to call AT&T multiple times until I get someone who knows how to fix it.
[doublepost=1521326706][/doublepost]I called AT&T and was lucky to get an awesome representative in the US. I wish they were all like him!!! He fixed the problem in a few minutes. He also noted my account to say - Customer's plan was changed to a slow plan with no hotspot without consent on March 13th. Plus he entered the price plan code for the next representative to use incase this happens again.

I ended up switching to unlimited. My employer quit dealing with AT&T and I lost my discount.

I just checked my account online and it is called “AT&T Unlimited Plus Multiline”. It is the one that has hotspot for each device and “unlimited” (22gig possible cap). It is pretty expensive, but we use a ton of data between iPad’s and iPhones.

My plan got changed again even though technically it's still under a 2-year contract since I did an upgrade. However I think I will just cancel it. Too much hassle with little gain. I will file a BBB complain when I have a chance.

I noticed mine disappeared when I when to use it this weekend. Called again, had the rep reference the notes from a few weeks ago. It was all set after being on the phone with her for 5 minutes. But I (we) shouldn't have to keep calling.

The person I spoke to said the $20 promotion is supposed to be good for 2 years. I wasn't told that before. As far as I knew it's good until I want to change it to something else. She was thinking the ending date might be the reason why the plan keeps changing so she removed the end date. She was pretty confident that it won't happen again. They've all been confident that it won't happen again...

I don't use the hotspot a lot so I'm going to check it every Sunday night to try to narrow down when it disappears. I have to restart my iPad after they correct the problem on their side so I'm wondering it the button disappears when I restart it after a software update.

Is this plan still working for anyone? I’ve lost my hot spot button at least 3-4 times since my last post at the beginning of April. They keep telling me it won’t happen again after I call in to have them fix the problem. I just noticed it’s gone again.

mine disappeared as well ... not sure what going on with it ... I dont even really use the hotspot but needed it today and it was gone.

I bought the original ipad in 2010 with the unlimited data plan from at&t for $29 a month. I never let it lapse and have transfered the plan to every new ipad i’ve bought since. I currently use it on my ipad mini. I don’t even have a phone anymore. I can make & recieve calls, facetime & message all from my ipad.

Was wondering if i do buy a new iphone x, could i just transfer the data plan to the phone without activating it the normal way with a voice plan etc.

I spent another 35 minutes on the phone with AT&T today. One of the reps I spoke with months ago told me what needs to be done to fix the problem if I ever had to call in again. So I provide that info each time I call. Most of the time the reps are able to do that, I restart my iPad then things are good for another 2-3 weeks. It has to be escalated up to a higher level last time. I later received a call to tell me I could restart my iPad. It was good after that. The woman I spoke to today couldn't get the price plan code to work (might be known as the SOC code?) so she had to send it to someone else. I told them I'd like to know why this keeps happening. Everyone I speak to tells me they don't know why.

I usually stick with things but I'm getting worn out by this. I shouldn't have to pay $50 or $60 to be able to do the same thing as the $20 plan they offered me last year but I might end up throwing in the towel and paying the extra money so I don't have to keep wasting my time on the phone every few weeks.
