I agree with all who think that both sides of this silly war are just talking about some facts while omitting others. The lawsuit seems rather pointless. AT&T should invest its money in a good ad campaign and continue to improve its network (which I am happy with). However, I do think that Verizon's advertising is misleading. Extremely misleading.

I've read various individuals' complaints about AT&T's network and I disagree. I have lived in Massachusetts and Michigan (not in major cities) and I get great service. Since I bought my iphone six months ago, I have ALWAYS been able to check my email and surf the web and, I'd estimate that about 97% of the time I have 3G service. My bottom line, though, is: I always have internet and phone service on my iPhone. That makes me a happy customer.

When I travel, AT&T seems to consistently come through for me, and most of the time, I have 3G service. EDGE service kicks in from time to time.

I would not want to use Verizon and I sincerely hope that Apple and AT&T continue their business relationship. Verizon has horrible customer service and the "Can you hear me now?" ploy is bull. Verizon's coverage map may look good, but I've seen plenty of Verizon customers have dropped calls or static in their calls. I've also seen Verizon Blackberry users not be able to use the internet. Verizon's pricing also is not the greatest for the way I use my iPhone (it's my only phone). Not once in the three years I've used AT&T have I experienced a dropped call.

I also like AT&T's plan pricing. I have tons of rollover minutes and the cost of the internet service is reasonable to me. I don't care about tethering at all. I didn't even care about MMS. I don't use it and I have never used it. And now that I have it again (this time with my iPhone) I still do not use it!

Am I the only super happy content AT&T customer with an iPhone? I really have no complaints about my service. On the contrary, I love my iPhone and AT&T service.

No mactony your not the only one happy with AT&T. I live in Champaign, IL and so its a decent town with a major university. So on average we have more users coming from other states with their iPhones. We just recently got 3G here and when we did I finally upgraded my Edge iPhone to the the 3GS and I'm loving every minute.

I've been with AT&T for 10 years now and I've never once had a problem with them. I've been with them through three name changes and my service and call quality has been great. It was great when I went to Florida down to the keys, it was great when I went to Canada, it was great when I went to Dallas, TX and its great every time I go up to Chicago to visit my dad. In Champaign I get service in the basement of my workplace (several feet of concrete) or in the elevator were Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon co-workers do not. Never one have I had a dropped call either.

Nope I love them and have no plans to switch any time soon. I don't have any allegiance to them but right now in my hometown were I use it the most AT&T service has been nothing but good to me. And man is 3G fast, I love it!

However, I can never understand why people brag about having thousands of rollover minutes which they can't possible ever use. Doesn't that just mean they've picked a plan that costs too much?

No, some times it's the cheapest plan. My family have over 3,000 rollover minutes. We have the cheapest family plan possible.

I love my iPhone and will never give it up because of coverage and where I live coverage is excellent. However, I do travel extensively with an RV and know first hand Verizon has vastly superior coverage especially in the western states and outside the big cities. Maybe AT&T can color in their map with Edge and look almost as good for internet access, but Edge, though acceptable for internet info gathering with apps, does have some internet flaws. For one, I have never been able to successfully upload a photo in Edge to Facebook. That flaw alone bugged me a lot. Also, I found I could not access the iTunes app store and download apps or update apps in Edge.

Ohhh, ok. So what is it that AT&T offers exactly, besides crazy rates and not much choice?

"the vast majority of those areas are covered by the company's EDGE network, which the company claims is virtually identical to its 3G coverage with the exception of data transfer speed."

Yeah... it's virtually identical.... much in the way an egg is virtually identical to a chicken. Seriously, I can't believe a PR person let that pass. Oh wait, it's an AT&T PR person...

If edge was is so fantastic at&t, why do you carry the iPhone 3g?

I can't ever imagine having such an internet centric device with 3g capability to then hear from my carrier that we are "covered by the companies edge network".

Well whoopde****indoo.

**** EDGE, I bought a 3g handset. I want 3g

Did I miss the headlines here? Or has it not been posted ?

Judge rejects ATT bid to stop Verizon ads... says they're sneaky but not misleading if the viewer pays attention.

The judge also says ATT can try to make its case again in mid December.

the judge was saying that there is not enough ground to force Verizon to pull all of the adds before the whole dispute is settled.

It is still in the courts, and will resume in december.

WTF? I didnt know that there was still a cancelation fee when you have a smartphone plan and your 2 yrs are up. What the hell are they on?

There's no fee at the end of two years, even with the new ETF.

the judge was saying that there is not enough ground to force Verizon to pull all of the ads before the whole dispute is settled.

Thank you for putting much better than I did.

...with the not minor consequence that Verizon will be able to run their ads through all or nearly all of Saturnalia (AKA "the holiday shopping season").

So, if AT&T does prevail, they'll have won the battle and lost the war ;) ....

(Aiden's 3G smartphone and 2 laptops with internal EVDO Rev.A are on Verizon ;) )
