Well i bought the plan on ebay and found out that the plan was made on 7/15.

What should i do?
I don't know if the seller is that guy that made the plan cause he said that he bought it on 7/15 and he using the same pictures as the original seller, which was why i thought it was him who made it.

Should i call att?
Or
Just keep the plan?
Or ask for a refund?
Or tell ebay/ paypal?
If you want to have your plan closed, call Att. It happens with the plans to be reestablished if the person before you missed a payment in 2015. You have 30 days to contact Att, provide the proper payment and update your CC on file. Or if the plan was transferred from one person to another in 2015 they reestablish it to hide personal info, but it doesn't work all the time, dometimes you still see name of the previous owner. If you call it would be easier for CS rep. just to close your account. Use it and enjoy.
Better to say use it, but don't abuse it :)
[doublepost=1482240904][/doublepost]The plan is really awesome, I traced the last ond sold on the eBay , it was really "low price" 1903.00.
Att can easily handle this plans on the network. Their network , I think, is the fastest now on many markets. If Att wins the rights for FirstNet goverment network, they get 10x10 700 MHz ( leftover from gvrmnt. usage can be given to a public) and have even faster and more stable network, plus they get the "rights" to bypass local bureaucracy faster with the government program.

Who was the seller?if you contact att can risk losing the plan ...dang I heard some people on ebay are cloning them and reselling...

And when you purchased it?that why I'm afraid of buying these plans now..so many clones

I thought these can't be cloned. How is it possible to clone them?

I wouldn't tell you if I knew would I Lol they sell hotcakes at near 2k atleast some people are minting money.I have no clue but there is a seller who is no longer on ebay his I'd was an a1infinite data and he used to spawn them somehow.could be someone working in att.

The eBay cloning of the unlimited plan was part of my concern that caused me to sell the plan. I figure if AT&T hadn't already caught on to people already abusing the iPad data plan for terabytes of data abuse... they definitely would figure things out in the future as more and more cloned plans are introduced to the network.

Hell, in this thread you can even see posts from back in July 2015 referencing how their iPad unl data plan was just recently created. Apparently the person who works at AT&T and is cloning these plans to make a ton of money on eBay has been doing it for awhile already :p

I voted $0.00 as I already have that plan. I got one for my iPad and also my iPhone. I got them when they first became available and have hung on to them through thick and thin.

Hal, the guy since seem to have unregistered off ebay either he made lot money or got into lot of trouble it's some deep stuff spawning those rare plans and selling for 2k a pop..he probably sold good few hundreds..

Just wanted to add my experience here since it seems some people have had similar experiences and others have not. Back in Sept. I got an iPad Pro 9.7 I have an At&T account with the DIRECTV unlimited data plan. I DO NOT have an embedded sim, it's an At&T sim and I bought my iPad through AT&T. Everything that I've "officially" read says that I should not be able to use the personal hotspot and I am subjected to throttle with this plan. However on my iPad Pro I can and DO use my personal hotspot on this plan often. And I know I've gone way over the 25GB throttle limit before. Interesting enough though is that my iPhone 6 Plus is also on this same plan yet I cannot use the hotspot option on there. Oh and yes I can use wifi, USB, and Bluetooth to connect to my iPad Pro hotspot.

Have you tried testing the ipad nano sim in any att hotspot? I know people mentioned it works but can't be sure do you see 0 GB of UNLIMITED on the hotspot?how many ipad lines can you keep on the Direct TV unlimited plan?

I think its been possible but the issue is whether they will warn you or even kick you off in the future. Keep us posted though, could be a valuable data point.

I will indeed. I've been doing this since September with no hiccups yet. If it happens I will report here first!

I'm not exactly sure what all you are asking me to do. I believe you can have up to 10 lines on the DTV plan.

What's the app called? The one for the outgoing phone calls

The DirecTV Unlimited is still subject to deprioritization after 22GBs. For most people it won't make a difference but in congested towers your speed can drop down to 5-8Mbps (which is what Cricket data speeds are always capped at)

This thread is about the 2010 iPad UDP which does not have any deprioritization. You can be in Time's Square on New Year's, use 1 TB of data and AT&T won't intentionally deprioritize you.

I believe you're referring to my comments when I first noticed it. Since then I've purchased two more plans. One of them I know for a fact to be an original from 2010 and another that I'm unsure about (I have to assume it's a clone but it's probably a 2014 clone so there's no longer a purchase record from then).

I use now have the original 2010 version for myself. I figure if AT&T does a sweep and cancels all of the clones, mine should still work. Not guaranteed but at least it's a safer bet than running out of a clone plan.

Yep. I just posted about this yesterday in another thread.

So do original 2010 unlimited ipad plans show billing that dates back to 2010? Sorry for what could be an obvious question, but now I'm worried mine is a clone.

you can't tell if it was cloned a year and a half ago.
the billing page and renewal dates only show so far back, around a year and a half.

you can see for yourself how far it goes, but even if it is a clone, there isn't much you can do about it.

@007shinobi,

checking the ipad landing page for my plan, I can see my full account overview for previous months up until June 2015. The current period has unlimited under the status. While the previous months have expired under the status. I do have previous e-mails archived from all my renewals for my plan that AT&T automatically sends out every month when it is renewed and debited from my account dating back to June 2010.

Thank you very much for the data point! I think mines a legit one, the person who sold it to me had it under an employer e-mail originally but truthfully theres no way to tell.

So what's the max you guys have downloaded in a month using this plan? My max was 330 GB I think like a year and half ago but now because verizon is cracking down on their UDP users I might use this more.

How is Verizon 'cracking down' I have one of their loyalty UDP and I'm not aware of any changes in their plans. They have never throttled me. Please elaborate?

I have the 2010 29.99 iPad plan. I am tempted to change to the 40 dollar iPad unlimited plan (I have uverse) since several people have reported on here that they are able to tether on this plan vs not being able to tether on the 29.99 plan. Just curious if any has switched and what their experience has been.

Its 22gbs before they throttle you. With the uverse plan.

and because this iPad plan is extremely rare, att basically don't care how you use it. you can put it in a mobile hotspot device and call it your home broadband.

I can't tell you whether that's a good idea or not, but I can give you the pros and cons of each to help you determine what's best for you.

$30 plan pros:
  • Cheapest option for unlimited ($30 total vs. $140 minimum for a phone and a tablet line)
  • Does not require DirecTV or U-verse (you might want to get rid of U-verse in the future and you will lose unlimited)
  • You can sometimes jailbreak for tethering (provided a jailbreak is available)
  • Works in pretty much any cellular device (tablet, hotspots, and phones) whereas the new plan set up for a tablet which includes tethering will not work in any device but a tablet
  • Absolutely no throttling (though you should rarely, if ever, get throttled on the new plan after 22GB)
New plan pros:
  • Obviously unlimited hotspot. I've had this almost since the plan came out and the hotspot is still available on my iPad.
  • Lots of $$$ selling your old plan.

Think it's funny now everyone complaining that we were bottlenecking the network so much with our unlimited plans. Yet here we are now these carriers offer so called unlimited but wanna charge more for it.

Hold on to your plans people.
