Use those settings, I use one in my galaxy note 5. It works perfectly.
[doublepost=1477940771][/doublepost]Followed those settings to the letter. That APN only worked long enough for AT&T to send me an "ATT Free Msg" telling me that my new device requires a new SIM card to give you access to all services. :(

My AT&T Note 4 is currently unlocked, BTW. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I tried. No joy. AT&T send me an "AT&T Free Msg" telling me that my new device required a new SIM card to give me access to all service. Otherwise, no internet access.

Does anyone know how to use the plan on an Android phone as a data only device? I tried using it in my unlocked AT&T Galaxy Note 4 using an old broadband apn I found from a 3 or 4 year post, but it didn't work. I really don't need the plan on my iPad any longer, but I want to keep the plan and use it in the Note 4 as a data only device.

Set the APN to "broadband"

It's interesting seeing the poll, now. Only 8.1% of responders said they would pay over $1500 and yet as of late 2016 I would consider $1500 to be a good price! People consistently pay a lot more.

Yeah 1500 is a steal IMO. I believe the avg. Price paid nowadays is 2200-3k.... that's a lot of money even if it is worth it. Glad I already have mine !

Same. I'm very happy with all three of my iPad plans as well a my international unlimited plan.

Another curious question, when you were roaming, did you remember how much data you used? Not sure if it would be unlimited when roaming.

It was a couple gigs IIRC. I was in Maine which only has T-Mobile coverage.

I think part of what makes the iPad session plan so special is it doesn't have any oversight. There's no mechanism in place to handle cases like excessive tethering or roaming. From what I can tell they don't even track it so they don't have any reason to know that you're doing it a lot.

I could be wrong, but I haven't seen a single credible claim of someone being kicked off this plan for ANY reason (other than failure to pay the monthly fee, obviously)

Seems these are going for about $3k now. As much as I would like to get one it's hard to justify the risk especially considering Cricket offers an unlimited data plan for $70/month ($65 w/ Autopay). The $40 difference in monthly cost between these two plans means I wouldn't break even on the $3k initial cost fort 6.25 years. That's a long time to hope AT&T doesn't abandon this plan...

I see how for some people this would be a great time to unload their data plans. Me personally, i never would. It pays for my home internet, and both my cell phone plans for my wife and I. Think about it. I pay $90 for all 3. Most people are paying about 65 for a single unlimited plan. Its priceless IMO. Nothing can beat the math that shows me saving 10k over the next 10 years.

Its a truly unlimited plan with no throttling. Some people drop it into wifi access point or a router and use it as their internet. Plus you get full LTE speeds. As far as price goes, $3k is crazy. If you want to get one shop around. Watch auctions and don't be afraid to email sellers. I got mine for way less than that.

what do you use for home internet? How are you making calls on your cell phones?

I use a cradlepoint router designed to take a SIM card for my home. My wife and I use Google hangouts for voice/text etc. Both cellphones are setup as Broadband connections.

I did Hangouts for a while but was upset with the quality. I switched to using Truphone for calls. Use Google Voice callback and answer it on Truphone. All incoming calls are free so you still are only paying $29.99/month but you don't have to use Voip

CJ, thanks for the info. I too was not pleased with call quality initally. However in the last year it has gotten significantly better. I may still explore Truphone to see if its worth switching. Thanks!

The only downside to the Truphone method is it needs its own radio. There's two ways to do this. The first way I did was I had my iPad data SIM in a Unite Pro hotspot and my Truphone SIM in my phone. I connected my phone to the wifi hotspot at all times. This means I needed to have both devices though which is kind of annoying. Then I bought a OnePlus 3 which is a dual SIM phone. Most dual SIM phones only allow standby switching but the OnePlus 3 has two separate radios so they can both be active at the same time. It was totally worth it because now I'm rocking both SIMs but only need one device on me. I have an app that captures outgoing calls an redirects them to Google Voice callback so the whole process is pretty streamlined. Unlimited free minutes (both outgoing and incoming) on AT&T's network. Outgoing calls on Truphone are expensive as hell though so make sure you know what you're doing before you accidentally sit on hold with Best Buy and shell out $0.09/minute haha

That's an insane amount for a data plan. For that price, I'd sell mine too. No data plan is worth that much money.
Maybe not for you, but for some people it is. It all depends on how much you use. Some people don't have wired broadband and their only option for internet is slow satellite internet with high latency and low data caps.

What's the app called? The one for the outgoing phone calls
