AT&T's reaction to Verizon

I agree. I think AT&Ts text messaging plans are too expensive and Verizon's Data plans are too expensive.
Pwn'ed. Now they need to whip out the CDMA vs. GSM Maps. " there's a map for that". Still AT&T needs to step up there reliability if they want to get into a pissing match with verizon or else it's gonna get ugly fast for AT&T.
Agreed I don't want to pay 39.99 for minutes I'm not going to use. How about $30 for 300 mins like t-mobile....
There is parts of NYC that do well, but there are other areas where dropped calls is becoming way too common.

Here in Philadelphia, AT&T is pretty darn good overall!
No matter what, I still want a Verizon iPhone!
At least with AT&T you have a network to fall back on when you get bumped off of 3G. What happens when you get bumped from a Verizon or Telus (in Canada) style network? CDMA? Nope. Good luck with that.
All this crap about dropped calls. Give it a rest. I've never had a dropped call and many haven't, as well.
If ATT is the fastest 3G, I would hate to see the others. 
Not sure which is better a supposed faster network with less coverage or a slower network with much more coverage?
What makes ATT phones different. Heck it seems the iphone you can either talk or surf but not both. Maybe Iam doing something wrong.
Coverage world wide, how about coverage in the US, like 15 minutes down the road from me.

What?! Your arguement is invalid. 1xEVDO is EVERYWHERE in the US helm North America God forbid you loose EVDO you get bumped to 1xRTT. Verizon has more coverage than AT&T that's a well known fact.
However, they have less coverage at my house which is all I care about. AT&T wins at home.

Dropped calls is a daily embarrassment that AT&T users experience. When you run a business, and your phone calls drop in an important conference call because you are on an iPhone (AT&T network) - you'll want to do something about it. It happens again, and you'll definitely do something about it.
It's very common in far too many areas. My aunt in Wisconsin can't call my mom on her iPhone and my friends with iPhones here in upstate NY have trouble often. 5 bars of 3G everywhere but dropped calls.... When I was in Florida by Disney however verizon was a JOKE same with AT&T.

AT&T still has EDGE where 3G isn't available, so it's not like they don't completely have coverage. It seems like a almost win win situation. Faster service, and if not available, then slower coverage. But you still get an iPhone
I would be more worried about loss of network connectivity altogether, even by (rather especially by) your example.
No. AT&T has more coverage. Verizon has great coverage in the USA and only in the USA. AT&T has great coverage too at least in my area. They also have GSM cell towers in other countries, and won't have to sell you a "World Phone" like Verizon.
I believe that those are actually the same price on both carriers. (At least the data plan is. $30 on either one.)
Assuming someone travels enough to need it...
If they buy a World Phone, they get the superior Verizon 3G coverage at home, and GSM 3G coverage overseas... with the option of using local SIMs, too, since Verizon will unlock the GSM side for that.
