Backtap is by far my favorite feature in iOS 14

I have a Speck case on my Xr and it works just fine. Given the variety of cases, I guess it would make sense that some might not work though.

I'm not seeing it listed as an option on my IPP 2018.

I have take screenshot enabled on three taps but when I walk and have the phone in my baggy pockets it tries to take a screenshot. This is with my phone in a tech 21 wallet case.

This needs to be worked on further as it is inconsistent. Set both double and triple-tap to lock phone sometimes it works and the next time it doesn't and the time taken for it to lock the screen is slow.

A bit gimmicky for me. I only like to use the phone interacting with the screen. From what I have heard it does quite a lot of accidental activations when you place it on a table.

It's a cool feature, but next beta's will have to tune it some more. I'm getting activations when playing Brawl Stars as I'm actively tapping the screen during the game it sometimes registers "back taps". Kinda annoying, but I love the idea, just some needed fine tuning and we'll get there.

You can create a shortcut to open the app of your choice and then assign that shortcut to either back tap

Yea that would ruin my idea for disabling the home bar if you set one of the taps to home. Would just go home anyhow from tapping

I am able to set the double tap to bring down control center (which was unreachable for my tiny hand)

Can it trigger reachability? I have the most trouble with that because playback controls are usually too close to the home bar and I often inadvertent hit a playback control when trying to drag down reachability. A double tap on the back of my phone to bring it down would be great.

It seems like both Camera and Reachability are options.

Works with a couple of my cases (spigen rigid and a generic silicone)

I disabled my backtaps, had 3x set to screenshot and found about a million screengrabs in my Photos! 2x even more likely to be triggered accidentally

I don’t see the back tap option in settings > accessibility. Nothing is listed after call audio recording.

I have the new SE. I am guessing it isn’t supported.

Believe it’s for only devices with face ID

This may be a bug, but Back Tap is possible on iPhone 8/ SE and ilk. I upgraded from 13.6 beta to iOS 14, the option existed. Only when I restored fresh via DFU that the option has disappeared. Leads me to think that the option is only artificially removed on notch-less iPhones. Hardware has nothing to do with this, this is just Apple being Apple. Although, it is entirely possible that the option is enabled for all phones in coming weeks. I say this only because I have seen that option on my 8 when I upgraded OTA.
