In the time it took me to read your post, I could of fried up 4 pounds of bacon, ate it, died of a heart attach, be pronounced dead, and gone to bacon heaven. In the bacon thread, we keep it short, and tasty. Just like our bacon.

However if you ever want to invite me over for some of that "Fried in its own fat" Bacon, ill be there in a slightly irregular heart beat.

Hee hee. Nice. I might even give the wire grate method a shot. Although now I'm thinking our toaster oven might work equally well... I'll have to do some testing this weekend.

I like it floppy and greasy so the oven is usually out. Hmm. I was just thinking if running it through the laminator would work. After the cheese toast incident I am a bit leery to try though.

This weekend I was in a general store in WVa and they had seasoned pork bellies. Imagine if you will 1 square foot of bacon just ready for the slicing.

Mmmmmmmmmmm...bacon...^_^

All you who say that bacon will give you heart attacks, clog your arteries, kill ya...Well, if I've gotta die, might as well be from something I love!

A sandwich or burger is not really complete without that smoked goodness that is bacon. Not to mention courdon bleu, chilli, potato skins.... *mouth begins to drool*

Ok, ok, I love the way it tastes. But I only eat turkey and soy bacon.
If there's a stray strip laying around somewhere though......

Soy bacon is just weird because all the fat strips on the bacon slices look exactly the same. That's just wrong.... still tastes pretty good, though, for being vegetarian....

i honestly do not like bacon. for that matter, i don't like a lot of pork products.

i was a vegetarian for the first 10 years of my life, and my family avoids pork products in general being Jewish, although we don't exactly keep strict Kosher.

while i don't like bacon, i can't lie.. i love sausage. and that was not sexual innuendo so don't even start :D

I'm salivating and having trouble resisting making myself one of these babies just from looking at this picture:

Strips of fat?

I don't get this. is American bacon different to normal UK/Danish/Spanish/everywhere else bacon? Yours seems to be actual strips with no width variation, ours tends to look like some kind of giant ear. Usually not fatty at all. Even if there is fat it's easily removable, scissors usually do the trick.

Hell I have bacon near enough morning noon and night, and supper! Yet I'm just 10 stone. hm. Love the stuff :D last night had 4 rashers of bacon, 2 Cumbrian sausages on 2 lovely english muffins, with butter oozing off. Delicious! Legend has it my girlfriend adds scrambled eggs to hers  shes only 7 stone! haha.

OMG!

A thread about my favorite food ever!

I will order ANYTHING on the menu that has bacon on it: bacon cheeseburgers, bacon-wrapped shrimp, cobb salads with bacon, mac & cheese with bacon, club sandwiches with bacon, beans with bacon, pizza with bacon, the list goes on...

If I ever opened up a restaurant, it would be nothing but bacon-related dishes.

I dream about bacon...

Yes, the bacon in the UK is quite different to the bacon in the US. In the UK there's actually some meat on it. :p

This is absolutely true!
However... I find I don't like bacon as much in other countries. It usually tastes more like ham, and just isn't as interesting to me. Guess I like the fat!! :D

While on vacation, I was surprised to find that they have a whole building full of bacon on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago!

I don't include bacon in my regular meals, because it's never on the list of foods that doctors recommend, but when I'm on vacation, the rules are relaxed, and I let myself indulge. But a whole buildingful? That's too much of a good thing. Still, I hope they don't change the name on that building.

Man, this must be coincidence day. I was thinking of this thread earlier today as I had the once a year bacon burger (with guacamole!).

This thread often comes to my mind, partly because this post by briankonar still makes me laugh. Our family actually quotes from it when we're joking about fast food.

It also reminds me of a fake Saturday Night Live commercial where they keep wrapping fast food in another kind of fast food and serve it in a big shopping bag. Anybody got a clip of that one?

I am surprised no one mentioned Duck bacon
its basically smoked duck breast with the skin on.
so rich , so tasty and not pork ( i dont eat pork)
When I was a kid my favorite breakfast was four strips of bacon cooked with two eggs sunny side up on them.
