This thread is an antique, so I haven't read every post, but has anyone mentioned bread fried in bacon fat??

Loved that as a kid. Back then we wasted nothing.

:D

Bacon, sausage, fried egg, and mushrooms, with Daddies sauce (not HP, Daddies is 10x better), and a sprinkling of black ground pepper, in some fresh white bread. Saturday morning in heaven.

I am glad to see that this thread is still alive some 4 years later . I made to plates of bacon today, I meant to share the first one with my friends, but something happened ad I ate it all. So I had to make another one.

Has anyone ever had a deep fried bacon and banana sandwich? Apparently, it was one of Elvis' favourite snacks. I made one once and needless to say, I felt like I was gonna die of heart failure.
my favorite is peanut butter and bacon. but i use fat-free turkey bacon with no nitrates. has all the flavor and none of the guilt. oh, and to go with that, smart balance peanut butter, whole wheat bread, yummmmm

Turkey bacon is the only way to go. And the version thats the best is the nitrate free one that Publix sells for $4.99 for 8oz

Too much cholesterol in the regular stuff. couple of packs of it, and the reading shoots up about 20-30 points :p

Is it disgusting that I eat a wrap from Subway with 8 pieces of bacon on it several times a week?

That's what makes it cancerous, burnt fat.
What do you prefer:
*heart desease?
*cancer?

Boy, you just gotta love bacon :p :p :D

Yah and if you undercook it instead of burning it, there's still the possibility of trichinosis.

I used to eat bacon despite the artery-clickin' potential but finally gave it up about a year ago. I haven't missed it for quite awhile, until just now when I stumbled onto this thread... :(

It's not all that, I'm a vegetarian and I've tried the stuff just to shut people up when they go on and on about how good it is.

There are better things.

Vege bacon is actually very good. Not the same texture, of course, but it's really good on salads, and good for you = no guilt.
